Country music superstar Trisha Yearwood took a minute recently to thank Dr. Anthony Fauci for his work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yearwood was with her husband, Garth Brooks, who was a recipient of one of the 2021 Kennedy Center Honors.

Fauci, who is the director of the U.S. Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), has been one of the key leaders in battling the coronavirus. He’s also the Chief Medical Adviser to President Joe Biden.

On her Instagram account, Yearwood shared a picture of her with Fauci. She had COVID-19 herself and still is having trouble fully regaining her taste for food. She also added that she received her second vaccine shot yesterday (May 24).

Trisha Yearwood Receives Words Of Love From Husband Garth Brooks

Trisha Yearwood has been married to Garth Brooks since 2005. Brooks offered his own honor of love and affection toward Yearwood in a tweet.

“To loosely quote Maya Angelou,” the country singer said, “I stand here as one, but I stand here for the people who have carried me to this point. Grateful! love, g.”

The ceremony, scaled back due to health safety concerns, was held in Washington, D.C. Besides Brooks, others receiving Kennedy Center Honors included actor-comedian Dick Van Dyke, singer Joan Baez, violinist Midori, and choreographer-dancer Debbie Allen.

During his acceptance speech for his honor, Brooks said, “Everybody knows my sister was probably the greatest influence on me, music-wise. I wanted to be (Debbie Allen) when I was a kid, ’cause she was always so cool. And Joan Baez is, like, (a) major influence for my sister. So to sit in the same booth with Miss Joan is going to be friggin’ awesome.”

Brooks Says ‘You Can’t Get Any Cooler Than That’ when Receiving Honor with Van Dyke

Garth Brooks was asked what it’s like to accept an honor like this with the legendary Van Dyke.

“I don’t know how you get any cooler than that,” Brooks said. “So, this is going to be a fun, fun weekend.”

Van Dyke is best known for starring in the CBS classic TV sitcom “The Dick Van Dyke Show.” Allen has been a major player in the dance world for decades, plus appeared in the TV show “Fame.” Baez has been a folk-rock musical influence for decades, too, with songs like “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.”

Brooks, obviously, has been highly influential in the country music world. Nine of his albums have reached diamond status as for sales in the United States. That beats The Beatles’ total of six diamond albums. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012. Brooks has sold more than 170 million records in his career.

But his relationship with Trisha Yearwood, combining two country music superstars in one couple, remains a high point in Brooks’ life. He can add a Kennedy Center Honor to his impressive list of accomplishments in his career.
