Tim McGraw broke down what it takes to have a long, happy, successful marriage, and the country music star should know. He just recently celebrated 24 years with music legend Faith Hill.

McGraw tweeted about their anniversary earlier this week.

“24 yrs……. @faithhill These years have rushed by in a series of beautiful, painful and unexpected moments…. We have loved, laughed and cried through exciting, inspiring and heartbreaking events in our lives together.”

His tweet featured a video of the couple throughout their history. They have three daughters: Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey.

“The future will surely hold more of all of these things It only matters if I’m with you It only works if I’m with you My oxygen only exists if you’re by my side Forever and always living and loving our way through anything @FaithHill,” he wrote.

Tim McGraw talks longevity in love

Tim McGraw went on the “Bobby Bones Show” to talk about his music, his love of free-dive spearfishing, his “awkward” interaction with Taylor Swift, and, of course, his beloved wife Faith Hill.

Bones wanted to know how McGraw and Hill have made through 24 years. They’re both massive music stars with very busy lives in a difficult business. McGraw was humble.

“The biggest thing to it is making a commitment and sticking to it, and believing in each other to keep that commitment,” he said.

He said there will always be tough times, and times when you or your partner are upset. But it’s in those times when you should remember the commitment you made.

“Love and respect, of course, that’s the foundation of all of it,” he said.

Though he joked that he’s found good success in his married life by “sitting in the corner and being quiet.”

It’s an interesting listen with a lot of practical advice on staying humble and working hard toward something you believe in. Whether that be in your professional life or your love life, he said.
