Bailey Rae, a contestant on “The Voice,” delivers a touching tribute in honor of the late Kenny Rogers. For her song on the show, Rae sang a touching rendition of Rogers’ “Sweet Music Man.”

While no one can replace The Gambler, Rae made the song her own while honoring the country singer at the same. Rae moved judges John Legend and Kelly Clarkson so much that they gave her a standing ovation. Despite her country overtones, Rae is on Legend’s team instead of Blake Shelton’s. She is currently competing for the show’s coveted top prize.

Legend thanked Clarkson for suggesting the song to Rae. “I have to give an assist to Kelly because when Baily Rae first joined my team, she said she should sing ‘Sweet Music Man,’” Legend said.

Rogers passed away earlier this year. He was 81 at the time of his death. Since then, country music stars and fans have honored Rogers and his legacy to the industry. They recently included a tribute to him at the 2020 CMA Awards. Despite his death, Rogers’ music continues to inspire others.

Fans Reacted to Bailey Rae’s Tribute

Several fans of the show took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on Rae’s performance. Several believe that Rae is a star in the making and delivered a powerful performance that Rogers would be proud of.
