Billy Ray Cyrus Celebrates Birth of Grandson
It’s been a very busy few weeks for Billy Ray Cyrus. Along with performing at CNN’s Fourth in America celebration, he also headlined the two-day Old Town Music Festival in Temecula, California late last month.
But all of that pales in comparison to holding his grandson, Bear Chance Cyrus, in his arms for the first time. His son Braison Cyrus posted about the birth on Instagram.
“Bear Chance Cyrus was born June 8th, 2021 at 10:05 PM,” Braison wrote. “He is 9 lbs and 22 inches of pure joy. God poured every bit of his mercy, tenderness, beauty, and strength into Bear and @stellamcyrus during her herculean feat of birthing him. I’m so blessed that he and his mom are healthy and couldn’t be more amazed by her strength and bravery. I am beyond grateful to the staff at the hospital and to our friends and family for offering us encouragement and support. God is so good. Hallelujah.”
Billy Ray Cyrus posted a photo of him holding Bear, wrapped in a blanket on Twitter.
“Papaw Cyrus holding Bear Chance Cyrus. Or…. is He holding me ? Probably both are accurate assessments!!! Thanking God for all my blessings. Amen,” he wrote.
PawPaw Cyrus looks content as he cradles the sleeping baby. This is Cyrus’ first grandchild. His wife, Trish, said the birth is bittersweet after her mother’s death last year.
“The amount of love I feel for this beautiful boy is immeasurable … after losing my Mom in Aug I felt a deep dark sadness that I thought may never go away. But somehow, when I hold this precious boy in my arms, there is no way for me to be sad and I am at peace. I truly believe he is my Moms gift to me. I know she can feel the light that this sweet boy has brought into my life and she is smiling,” she posted.
