WATCH: Florida Georgia Line Says ‘Cheers to the Road Ahead’ in New Year’s Video

Like so many other Americans, country music sensation Florida Georgia Line is preparing to wave goodbye to 2020. The tandem is the latest country music act to wish their fans a happy and healthy new year.

Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley make up the wildly successful musical duo that got their start in 2010. Ten years later they have become icons in the country music industry with a wide-ranging and devoted fan base.

The group took to social media on Thursday to wish their fans a happy new year and offer a toast to things to come. The country duo’s Instagram account boasts more than two million social media followers. Along with the well-wishing posts, Florida Georgia includes a one minute and 39 seconds long video looking back at the year that was.

“Cheers to the new year,” the post’s caption states. “While 2020 looked different than we could have all imagines, we are so grateful for the time to be with our family and friends, to reflect and create music for y’all. Cheers to the road ahead and 2021.”

Florida Georgia Line Eagerly Awaits 2021

It has been a year of ups and downs for Florida Georgia Lines as the COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc on their plans. Hubbard contracted the deadly virus and struggled mightily to recover. The singer called the diagnosis and his recovery a “reality check” in both his professional and private life.

“It’s a reality check that anything that you love or whatever you live for can be taken away instantly. So don’t put all your eggs in one basket,” says Hubbard. “And for us, it’s more than just music. You know, music’s what we love. We obviously miss the live portion of that, and it was just a reminder of how grateful we are. When we get back out on the road I think the fans are gonna be more grateful. I think we’re gonna be more grateful for it and also just excited and inspired as well.”

Hubbard would make a full recovery from the virus and now he and Kelley are looking forward to doing their thing in 2021.
