Jason Aldean embraced his inner-Joe Exotic for Halloween this year. The country singer and his family starred in a parody video as the major figures in the wildly popular Netflix series Tiger King.

In the video, Aldean is a dead-ringer for America’s favorite gun-toting former zoo owner. His wife Brittany starred alongside him as Exotic’s late husband Travis Maldonado. The video also featured the couple’s children: Memphis as a roaming white tiger and Navy playing Carole Baskin herself.

The country singer teased the video last week. The video acts as a parody of the show. Aldean set the video to “I Saw a Tiger” by Tiger King Joe Exotic. But Exotic allegedly didn’t write or record the songs himself. Instead, the music belongs to duo Vince Johnson and Danny Clinton, according to Sounds Like Nashville.

In March, Tiger King captured the public conversation, in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bored families tuned into the series which chronicled the feud between Exotic and Baskin leading up to his arrest. The show proved extremely popular for Netflix with a reported 64 million people tuning in.

Aldean’s Halloween parody also featured an interview with Exotic. Or should we say Aldean dressed as Exotic. In the video, Aldean addressed several events that happened in 2020.

“2020, what a crazy year. Everybody wants to blame Donald Trump for the coronavirus,” Aldean said. “Can’t go see Luke Bryan. Sport’s been all messed up. Atlanta Braves lost to the Dodgers. Didn’t go to the World Series. There’s one person I blame for everything in 2020: Carole Baskin.”

Cue, Aldean’s daughter Navy dressed as the animal conservationist. Instead of Baskin’s trademark phrase, she said, “I’m a cat.”

Shortly after releasing the clip, fans of Aldean’s expressed how much they loved the parody video. Several said they needed the laugh or found it hilarious. One user wrote, “That’s the greatest thing I’ve seen in a long while.”

Another wrote, “This is amazing. Or disturbing. Either way it’s hilarious.”
