When you get a beautiful new dress, you show it off. Especially when you wear it while performing a hit song at the 2021 ACM awards like Kelsea Ballerini.
Country star Kelsea Ballerini stunned in a strapless, floor-length, teal blue dress yesterday. She posted one photo last night of herself standing at the entrance of the ACM Awards. Along with the photo, she wrote, “turning music city emerald.” Later that night, she shared another photo of herself wearing the dress along with her boyfriend Morgan Evans after the award ceremony. Along with the photo, she wrote, “when the shoes have been kicked off and the extensions have been removed…”
But when you’re sporting a dress like that, you can’t post only two photos to social media. So, Kelsea Ballerini graced her fans with a video of herself walking in slow motion while wearing the gorgeous dress. Along with the photo, she wrote, “The dress deserves more than one post, I don’t make the rules.”
We agree, Kelsea, show off that dress!
Kelsea Ballerini Said Her And Kenny Chesney ‘Grew Up Really Similarly’
Country star Kelsea Ballerini didn’t just sport a beautiful dress at the ACM Awards last night. She also stunned the crowd with a performance of her latest song, “Half of My Hometown.” The song is about the people from her small hometown. Some have changed while others are stuck in the past. Regardless, Kelsea knows that a part of her will always be with that town. During the song, Ballerini sings, “Half of my hometown’s still hangin’ around, still talkin’ about that one touchdown…Some went north, some went south. Still lookin’ for a feelin’ half of us ain’t found. So stay or leave, part of me will always be half of my hometown.”
But Kelsea wasn’t alone during her performance at the ACMs last night. Country superstar Kenny Chesney joined her on stage and the two sang the song together. During an interview, Kelsea Ballerini talked about why Chesney is the perfect duet partner for the song.
“We’re both from Knoxville, Tennessee, which is why he’s on the song,” said Ballerini. “Growing up, he was the hometown hero. A couple of years ago I was about to play [in Times Square], and he took a photo of my face on the marquee, got my number, texted me and said, ‘Proud of you, hometown girl, love Kenny.'”
Ballerini added that she sent the song to Chesney after she wrote it because the two of them “grew up really similarly.”
“When I wrote ‘Half of My Hometown,’ I sent it to him because I think we grew up really similarly, and there’s no one else I’d want on this song — and I can’t believe he did it,” said Ballerini.
