Lady A takes a stroll down memory lane with their favorite holiday memories. On “CMA’s Country Christmas,” the musical group shared what Christmas meant to each of them.

For Lady A’s Charles Kelley, his favorite holiday memory is watching his son get up on Christmas morning. Kelley remembered the excitement in his eyes.

“I think one of my favorite holiday memories recently was last Christmas,” Kelley said. “When Ward, he’s finally three-and-a-half and he really understood what it meant to walk down and have his presents under the tree. All the presents from Santa out. That was something special for me.”

Meanwhile, Hillary Scott shared a childhood memory of hers and a pink Barbie car. She loved the gift so much that she even bought one for her daughter Eisele.

“Probably one of my most special childhood memories of Christmas growing up was I got a pink Barbie car when I was little. And I rose that thing around everywhere in the freezing cold,” Scott said. “It is one of my most memorable gifts that Santa ever brought me.”

For Lady A’s Dave Haywood, his favorite holiday memory was welcoming a loved one. Haywood’s daughter Lillie was born on Dec. 22, 2017.

“I think my favorite Christmas memory is my daughter was born right before Christmas,” Haywood said. “So we were in the hospital coming home a couple of years ago [with] our daughter Lillie. It’s a special holiday. Her birthday and Christmas are there back to back so it’s a special time.”

Lady A Plays ‘Wonderful Christmastime’

Lady A was in a festive mood for the CMA holiday special. And they wanted to share a little holiday cheer with audiences everywhere. To get fans in the holly jolly mood, they performed a rendition of Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime.” The group brought a country vibe to McCartney’s synthesized pop Christmas tune.

Lady A’s rendition is sure to have country fans humming along to the song’s catchy beat.
