Morgan Wallen has released a video for his hit song “7 Summers.” The song reminiscing about a lost love is one of the most recognizable from the Tennessee born country star.
Wallen released a “short film” with the song earlier this week, but released just the music video portion on Friday.
The film follows a young baseball player who is the son of famous player. Wallen doesn’t want to follow in his dad’s footsteps but is having a hard time finding his own way. Wallen song weaves through the film. Although, the music stops periodically to allow for dialogue to take its place.
Wallen was a talented high school pitcher, even receiving a college scholarship. In particular, made-up Southern Nebraska offers him a spot to play on their team in the film. The film seems to make the statement that it’s more important to follow your dreams even if it’s not what is expected of you. And, in the protaganist’s case, that means playing baseball in college. Though it means saying goodbye to his girlfriend even though they pledge to wait for one another.
