Country music singer-songwriter Shania Twain has a soft spot in her heart for Randy Travis. It shows in singing a classic Travis song.
Twain, though, pairs up with Irish singer Ronan Keating for this performance of “Forever and Ever, Amen.” They sing this version of Travis’ No. 1 song on BBC’s “The One Show.”
Keating went to Instagram and shared their performance with his social media followers.
In the video clip, you can tell Keating and Twain were performing in different locations. Keating actually released the song himself, which features Shania Twain singing along with him.
The song appears on Keating’s “Twenty Twenty” album, which was released last year.
Shania Twain Collaborates With Keating 20 Years Late
Keating’s new pairing with Shania Twain comes two decades after a “lost” collaboration between the two, according to an interview with udiscovermusic.com.
“Shania and I were meant to do something together 20 years ago on one of her songs, ‘From This Moment,’” Keating said. “That never came about, so it felt especially right to reach out now.
“‘Forever And Ever, Amen’ is a true country gem so to team up with the original writers and producer of ‘Nothing At All,’ 20 years on makes it all the more special.”
The song is available on digital streaming platforms.
Twain Reveals Which Pop Music Icon Inspires Her A Lot
Now it might be hard to believe that someone like Shania Twain needs anyone to inspire her. After all, Twain has packed up a lot of recording awards and honors throughout her career. Yet even Twain needs someone to hear and help her to greater things.
Who would that person be? Well, it’s Britney Spears for Twain.
Twain’s in love with Spears and her music. Spears also inspired Twain through Spears’ successful run in Las Vegas. Twain admits she sings Spears’ songs while rocking out to classic jams.
The country star talks about her Spears fan-girl admiration in her podcast, “Home Now Radio with Shania Twain.”
“Hit me baby one more time. Oh yeah! Britney Spears,” says Twain. “I don’t sound like her, but I sing along to her records.”
In fact, Shania Twain said she loved watching Spears perform during her Las Vegas show.
“Britney Spears is another residency artist in Las Vegas that I have seen a few times,” she says. “She was initially in Zappos Theater where I ended up myself and I loved the room. I thought her show was great and I was motivated to get on that same stage, so her show inspired me a lot.”
