Tim McGraw just released the perfect music video in time for Thanksgiving. His song “Gravy” celebrates time spent with friends and family, whether that’s at a holiday or just the little moments.

The music video combines videos and snapshots of McGraw with his wife Faith Hill and children. The video also includes home videos from other families all spending time together. When taken as a whole, the music video is a nostalgic trip through past memories and experiences. After all, what is more treasured than a home family video?

On social media, McGraw reflected on how difficult 2020 may be for a lot of families. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some families may not risk gathering around the dinner table together. And for those that lost loved ones to the virus, there will be an empty seat this year.

McGraw first teased the music video back in August. The song “Gravy” featured on McGraw’s 15th studio album “Here on Earth.” Sometimes McGraw’s music can be a little emotional. For instance, “I Called Mama,” which also features on the album, even made McGraw cry when he played it.

Fans Share Their Own Stories Because of Tim McGraw’s Song

So far, the song has elicited a heartwarming reaction from McGraw’s fans. On YouTube, some commentators shared their own stories and experiences. One user reflected on losing their two sons and how they wished the family could be together this holiday season.

They wrote, “Tim Mcgraw, thank you for still giving us hope during these horrible times of one of the worse years I’ve ever experienced. Please one can only hope 2021 is going to be better. I wish I could hug my kids that would make my life a little better. Both of my boys are gone. My first son died 2 days after birth, and my nephew whom I helped raise was murdered on Dec. 15, 2019. I just wish I could hug them one more time and tell both of them How much they mean to me. This song really hit really close to home. If I had one wish it would be to wrap my arms around my baby boys and tell them how much I love them.”

Another commented, “Tim, You are genuinely the world’s gift to lend the masterpiece melody to soothe the broken hearts and naturally cure all maladies. Thank all in the Heavens for your birth, your talents so gifted and your contributions to this Earth.”
