Guitarist John Jeffers of Texas country-rock group Whiskey Myers fractured his skull in an ATV accident.

Jeffers’ wife Hope Petty Jeffers shared an update on the incident via her personal Facebook on Tuesday, October 13. The accident happened on October 11, with Jeffers released from the hospital on Monday, October 12. Few details about the accident have been released.

It was ultimately a brutal one though, from the way things sound. Jeffers suffered a skull fracture and now has complete hearing loss in one ear. His neurosurgeon and ENT indicated to Jeffers’ wife that he will hear again and that his skull fracture will ultimately heal, however.

“They believe a bolt went through his skull and barely missed his carotid artery. He is at high risk of infection due the location of his fracture so specific prayers that he stays infection-free,” Jeffers wrote.

The band name might sound familiar. Whiskey Myers made an appearance back in 2018 on Paramount Network’s massively popular Yellowstone.

The accident was indeed a serious one, but it appears if John Jeffers can stay on the mend, his recovery should eventually come to fruition. The pair are due to welcome a child in just a few weeks, so tensions are likely running high.

“Continued prayers that he heals up with no infection + his hearing comes back over the next few weeks before Baby Jag Wilder makes his appearance,” wife Jeffers shared.
