One of the coolest things that Willie Nelson does is The Willie Nelson Family. Recording songs with his family and putting out good music. The latest is a cover of a George Harrison classic.

With Lukas Nelson, Willie’s son on lead vocals, the family put out a soft and sincere rendition of All Things Must Pass. While Willie can be heard on backup vocals along with other family members, Lukas shines. This is a great rendition of the song and fans of music are going to love it.

So listen to the song below and judge for yourself.

Recently, there have been some releases from The Willie Nelson Family. Lukas is a common collaborator. The two have toured together. With his band, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, and with his father, the younger Nelson has performed for years. He has a classic voice and can really get creative with his vocals in a variety of genres.

This has been a big season for the Nelson family. Willie is just getting done with touring and is now playing a few select shows to end the year. Back at the beginning of August, Willie started his tour and brought his family with him. During the tour, they played a number of shows off and on together.

Since then, his family put out another song. Just a month ago The Willie Nelson Family put out a recording of Family Bible. Also, this was one of the last songs that were recorded with drummer Paul English. After that, Nelson rocked the stage at Farm Aid and now we have this release.

Oh, and when he isn’t playing music for thousands of fans, he is advocating for the preservation of America’s wild horses.

Willie Nelson Fight for Horses, ‘Symbols of American Freedom’

Willie Nelson is a cowboy, and cowboys love their horses. Also, the country music legend loves America and preserving the good in the country. So, he has written an open letter to fans. In that letter, he is asking fans to reach out to their elected officials about the SAFE Act.

These, “historic symbols of American freedom,” as the singer-songwriter put it are a big deal for him. At his Texas ranch, he owns more than 70 rescued horses. The animals hold a special place in Nelson’s heart and that was clear in his letter to fans.

“Wild horses, like other wild animals, were meant to be wild and free. Historic family bands are broken as the horses are separated forever. Some are adopted or sold … Some end up slaughtered for human consumption overseas.”

During his plea, Willie Nelson cited acts passed by congress that have been weakened in recent years. So, the idea is to get people to petition their elected representatives.
