‘Yellowstone’ Star Kevin Costner Hangs Out With ‘Huge Fan’ Loretta Lynn

“Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner made a quick pit stop during his tour with rock band Modern West, visiting an iconic country star.

Loretta Lynn lives in a small rural community right outside Nashville, Tennesee, according to Taste of Country. Costner’s band played in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium on Oct. 25. A few days later, the “Coal Miner’s Daughter” singer posted to her Facebook page about how the actor, singer, and producer paid her a visit.

“Well, I felt like I was in a field of dreams this week when Kevin Costner came by to hang out with me for part of the day. He’s always been one of my favorites and I’m a huge fan,” Lynn posted on Facebook on Oct. 28. She also included the hashtags #crushing, #bigfan, and #bucketlist.

Lynn didn’t specify whether she’s a fan of Kevin Costner’s acting, singing, looks, personality, or all of the above. The 89-year-old country star likely watched Costner’s iconic film “Field of Dreams” in 1989, based on her post. Or she could’ve seen him in “Bull Durham,” “No Way Out,” “The Bodyguard,” “Silverado,” “The Postman,” or “Dances With Wolves,” and others.

On top of all his acting gigs for film and television, Kevin Costner also made time for Modern West. He started the band in 2007 while starring in several films. So far, the group’s released five albums, including the most recent one called “Tales From Yellowstone.”

The album ties into Costner’s role as John Dutton on the hit Paramount Network show “Yellowstone.” The album features several songs written from John’s perspective, as a rancher, cowboy, father, and husband. They’re currently on tour for the album, with remaining stops in Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, and Nevada.

Kevin Costner Opens Up About Being on the Road With Modern West

Kevin Costner and the Modern West only have a few more tour stops to go for their Tales from Yellowstone 2021 Tour. But in a recent interview with Extra TV, Costner opened up about what it’s been like to be traveling again.

We’re doing 13 shows,” Costner said before his Nashville performance at Ryman Auditorium. “That’s a lot of me to be away from home, 16 nights, but we’re gonna be playing almost every night. I love to play live. This band is the same band you met a long, long time ago.”

Costner’s been the frontman of the band since starting it 14 years ago. And he plays guitar on stage. But he also plays a key role in the group dynamic.

“My function in the band is I break all the ties,” Kevin Costner joked. “Hopefully, that means the cream gets to the top. That usually means most of my songs don’t make it.”
