For the Zac Brown Band, COVID-19 may have canceled their 2020 concert plans – but that doesn’t mean they can’t still tell the virus to **** off.

Zac Brown has given many emotional statements about canceling his 2020 tour. And for no small reasons. Their “The Owl Tour” wasn’t just highly anticipated for fans – but for the artist – and those who depend on him, as well.

According to CNN, Zac Brown Band’s tour cancellation had 90% of their staff laid off due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. “It’s just the right thing to do,” he tells CNN. “You know, keeping everybody safe is priority one. It has been really hard.”

“I absolutely adore all the people that work with us and this is the first time that I’ve not been able to provide for them,” Brown goes on in the interview. “I operate a lot differently than most people. Most people just hire the role for the time they are touring and then (they are) off. But the majority of my people are salary all year.”

Zac Brown Band says F*** COVID

In an effort to recoup some of their losses and keep fans engaged, the band is now selling what would’ve been shirts for their 2020 concert turn online. Of the shirts, the band says:

“Don’t forget to order your 2020 cancelled tour tees—only $20 for a limited time! F*CK COVID 😷“.

To CNN, Brown goes even more in-depth on how the COVID pandemic has affected him and his crew.

“This is really strange circumstances because normally under pressure entertainment and music always survives,” the artist says. “People want to feel good. They wanna come out and see music and we wanna be able to be there as a beacon to help remind them that everything is going to be OK during hard times, but this has been crippling because people can’t gather together.”

“I think if you care about your elders, if you care about your grandparents, if you care about people that you’re going to come into contact with, then it’s a time to stay in and be well…. Where are the parents of these kids not knowing where they are? Not knowing what they’re doing?”

For Zac Brown and his Band, it’s all about a “call to action”.

“Let’s have a call to action for the parents of the kids that are out doing these things. And I know you can’t really get your 18-year-old, 19-year-old to really necessarily to do everything that you can but you know, it’s a trying time.

“I try not to pass judgment for people. But when people are blatantly staying out and partying and making this go on longer than it should, that’s pretty selfish.”

Unfortunately, however, this means fans won’t be seeing “The Owl Tour” for quite sometime.

“I’m bracing until next spring,” Brown clarifies. “I don’t see (it) in the near future.”

In the meantime, the Zac Brown Band has been giving virtual campfire concerts for fans – and loving it. To purchase one of their F*CK COVID shirts, click here.
