The NASCAR Truck Series returns to a familiar name after racing under the Gander RV and Outdoors banner since 2018. Beginning in 2021, the racing series will return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
“The transition back to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series demonstrates the continued power of NASCAR’s brand-loyal fan base and creates a broader touchpoint with fans who are RV and Outdoor enthusiasts,” Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis said in a statement. “We leveraged the series to support the successful launch of our new brand in 2019. And look forward to celebrating the 2020 Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Champion in November.”
“The next generation of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is right around the corner and we’re committed to the series that has delivered for our customers, fans and the entire Camping World family of brands,” the statement said.
Lemonis released the new Camping World Truck Series logo on Twitter.
Gander RV & Outdoors has been the title sponsor of the series for the past two seasons. It replaced Camping World, which was the primary sponsor from 2009-2018. The company took over the sponsorship in 2009 from Sears’ Craftsman tool brand.
The Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series playoffs begin Thursday at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Several fans on Twitter seemed excited about the name change.
Truck Series driver Tim Veins recently appeared in the music video for the song “Back the Blue.”
Two of Viens’ custom trucks with decals of “Trump 2020” and “Back The Blue” also make a cameo.
