Navy Vet Opens Up About Dwayne Johnson Giving Him a New Truck

When it comes to show business, there isn’t much that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson hasn’t done or eventually will do.

Dwayne Johnson his road to immense fame as a second-generation professional wrestler. Charismatic and physically astonishing, Johnson was once the biggest star in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He ranks right up there with the likes of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair as one of the most popular wrestlers of all time. During his time with WWE, Dwayne Johnson, or “The Rock” as he was known, feuded with the biggest stars the sport had to offer. That list includes Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker and Triple H. In a true testament to his immense talent, he became an even bigger star when he left professional wrestling. He would rise to become one of Hollywood’s top leading men. Dwayne Johnson has starred in several box office smash hits like “Skyscraper,” “Central Intelligence” and “Jungle Cruise.”

Beyond the ring of professional wrestling and Hollywood stardom, Dwayne Johnson also has a reputation for being kind and giving. He’s often noted that giving back to those who have helped him in life is a great pleasure. Earlier this month, Dwayne Johnson surprised Navy Veteran Oscar Rodriguez with a brand new truck. It was enough to move Rodriguez to tears and he spoke out about what the gesture from Johnson meant to him.

“I’m just grateful I got the opportunity to meet The Rock,” Rodriguez says in a recent interview. “It was a wonderful experience.”

Rodriguez was invited to a special screening of Dwayne Johnson’s latest film “Red Notice” where he was gifted with the Ford Truck.

“I was invited as a special guest,” he recalls. “But when he called my name — I had no idea that I was the one special guest.”

Rodriguez was completely caught off guard by the gesture but is more than appreciative of The Rock’s kind gesture.

“I got up and I was floating on my way to him,” he says. “I gave him a hug — I gave him a bunch of hugs. It was just so good to hug the guy. He’s warm, inviting and very friendly — it was just great. I have been a fan of his for 25 years.”

Dwayne Johnson’s decision to give away the personal custom truck came from his desire to give back.

“I gathered as much information as I could about everyone in the audience and ultimately, Oscar’s story moved me,” Dwayne Johnson says in a social media post. “Takes care of his 75-year-old mom. Personal trainer. Leader at his church. Provides support and meals for women victimized by domestic violence. Proud and humble Navy veteran. Kind human being.”

Dwayne Johnson has made a habit of rewarding those who have helped him along the way and inspiring others to do the same.
