What do actresses like former NCIS star Emily Wickersham do between projects to keep occupied and creatively busy? Well, for one, she starts by posting artsy selfies on social media.
It wasn’t all that long ago that NCIS fans found out the show would be moving on without Wickersham. In the show, which centers around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the star actress played NSA Analyst Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop. She had played the part for eight years and quickly became a fan favorite. But to many of our displeasure, Wickersham announced that she will be walking away from the show at the end of its 18th season.
As a result, fans of the military crime show have been left to wonder just what exactly is next for Emily Wickersham. She has yet to reveal any professional fans just yet, but for the time being, she seems content to focus on herself this summer. Since announcing her departure on NCIS, the actress has posted several snaps to social media of her enjoying the summer sun.
She did just that once again on Wednesday afternoon. The 37-year-old posted a photo of her in a bright yellow robe. She seems to be enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. But instead of enjoying it in the usual way, she has the mug up to her eye and is peeking through the handle.
Wickersham captioned the photo with a yellow moon emoji — perfectly summing up the artsy photo and matching her yellow robe.
Fans React to Latest Photo from former ‘NCIS’ Star Emily Wickersham
Since officially informing her fans and followers that she was leaving NCIS, Emily Wickersham has been out here living her best life. But for many of those fans, their own best life included the star actress as a part of the show. Now that she is no longer a member of the cast, fans understandably have some bittersweet feelings.
“You’re like an Angel Em,” one follower gushed over the actress’ latest photo. “I love yellow too. Take care of you princess [I love you].”
Other fans took to the comments to let Wickersham know how much she will be missed on NCIS. They left messages like, “Oh, Ellie Bishop I miss you!!” and “I just watched the final ep. We miss you bishop.”
It was back on May 25th that Wickersham made it official that she was walking away. She announced her departure on Instagram in a heartfelt post.
“Hanging this hat and jacket up,” she said at the time. “What a great ride it’s been. This cast, this crew are top-notch. I can’t say enough kind words about this group that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for close to 8 years now and 172 episodes later. This business is finicky and weird and consistency is a rarity.”
