Judging by her Instagram, Emily Wickersham has been spending a lot of time at the beach. Not that I blame her; with the weather finally getting nice, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beach. And, she’s likely got a little more time on her hands now that she’s not filming NCIS. Wickersham left her longtime role as Ellie Bishop on NCIS last year, and she has a baby due later this year as well to top it off.
In her recent photo, Wickersham poses upside down on the beach, a face carved out of the sand next to her. Her dog looks regal in the distance. She captioned the photo, “I don’t know. But Miguel looks handsome.”
Emily Wickersham Gives Mark Harmon a ‘Big Congrats’ After Exit
Emily Wickersham may have left the show last year, but she still keeps up with NCIS news. After Mark Harmon’s exit, she shared a detailed article about the departure and a photo on her Instagram story, captioning it, “Big congrats to this guy!! what a run!”
Mark Harmon was on NCIS for all 18 seasons and 4 episodes of season 19, successfully ending his arc. His last episode, “Great Wide Open,” was full of emotional goodbyes that the characters didn’t know were goodbyes until later. Gibbs shared a touching scene with McGee, where he admitted he wasn’t going home and was instead staying in Alaska. He stated that he’d never felt such peace, at least not after his wife and child died.
Currently, there’s some frustration that new guy Alden Parker took Gibbs’ job instead of McGee, but there’s always the chance that McGee could change his mind. He didn’t take the job because of his family, but that could be the very thing that keeps him from losing himself in the job like Gibbs did. Gibbs had no family to fish him out of the dark stuff, but McGee does. If anything, it would make him a stronger leader. But, we just have to watch and see how this whole thing unfolds.
Wickersham was on NCIS for 7 seasons. In that time, her character had a will-they-won’t-they relationship with Nick Torres that ultimately ended in a they-will-but-then-she’ll-leave sort of situation. The two agents shared a kiss during Ellie Bishop’s last episode, but she walked away from Torres.
Bishop left to go on an undercover mission, and there’s always the possibility she could come back. It feels like Wickersham left the show to have her baby, so maybe after she’s had her maternity leave, she could come back to NCIS? Fans, don’t hold your breath, though. It’s all speculation, as always.
Emily Wickersham is due to give birth in a few months, and I’m sure we’ll get a lot of baby beach pics in the following years.
