“NCIS” star Cote de Pablo has had a good relationship with the show’s lead actor, Mark Harmon. She views him in a special way.
“You know, he more like a, you know he’s a friend mentor,” de Pablo said in a 2019 interview with BUILD. “He was always like a father figure to me. And, obviously, Ziva [David] gives out that but Cote and Mark give out that.
“He’s a very busy, famous man and so there are many months when we don’t talk, you know,” de Pablo said. “But it’s really nice to know that sometimes when you have friendships, and certainly in [a] family that’s a given, you can go time without talking.”
‘NCIS’ Star Made Surprise Reappearance On Show In Its 16th Season
De Pablo played Ziva David in the 3rd-11th seasons as a full-time cast member on “NCIS.” She’s made guest appearances in the third and 16th seasons while becoming a recurring character in the 17th season.
But she made a rather surprising “NCIS” reappearance in that 16th season. De Pablo reprised her Ziva role in the season finale, showing up in Jethro Gibbs’ [Harmon] basement to tell him that his life is in danger.
“The first time back on set … that in itself can be kind of nerve-wracking as someone whose been away for a long time,” de Pablo said in the BUILD interview. “I hadn’t seen a lot of the crew members. I hadn’t seen a lot of the cast members and even though the scene was only with Mark there was that like ‘oh, it’s the scene’ you know?”
It also should be noted that her comeback to the show was kept under tight wraps.
“It was like a top-secret operation,” de Pablo said. “My God, these guys were like no joke. They were calling every second like ‘we’re delayed by an hour, we’re delayed by two hours. Just you wait. Stay put.’ I was like ‘Where am I going to go? I’m here for this!”
De Pablo Started Her Show Business Career At 15 Years Old
De Pablo, who was born on Nov. 12, 1979, in Santiago, Chile, started her show business career at 15 years old. She co-hosted the Latin American talk show “Control” with former “Entertainment Tonight” Carlos Ponce.
By the way, if you are looking for de Pablo on social media, then you can forget about it.
“It’s almost like you’re talking about a world that I’m not a part of,” de Pablo said on BUILD. “That world is fascinating and shiny and everyone’s pretty and everyone’s having a great time.”
The “NCIS” actress went on to say that “she’s not saying no to it” but does find it interesting when people use it to highlight certain issues.
