As fans eagerly await season 19 of “NCIS,” they’re spending their time watching old episodes before they get their hands on new ones. As a result, many viewers are wondering Luca Sciuto is— a mystery man Gibbs met in earlier episodes.
Throughout its reign on cable television, the show has introduced several characters during its 18 seasons. However, we want to learn more about the actor, Tyler Ritter, who played Scuito. Although he appeared briefly, he managed to leave a lasting impression on the fans.
Ritter, 36, appeared as the character during a significant turning point for the show. He appeared in two episodes: Sister City Part One and Part Two in both “NCIS” and “NCIS: New Orleans.”
If you’re scratching your head trying to remember, it’s probably because his episodes happened in 2016. Sciuto was a chef and the adoptive brother of NCIS Forensic Scientist Abigail Sciuto (Pauley Perrette.)
More recently, you may have noticed him in the series “Homecoming” as Lane. However, his most notable role is when he appeared in the series “Arrow.” The star played Detective Billy Malone and had a reoccurring role during season five.
‘NCIS’ Star Son of Legendary Comedian & Actor
He’s also starred in “Agents of SHIELD” as Thomas Ward in 2015. He’s also had roles on “Merry Happy Whatever,” “The Good Doctor,” “Young & Hungry,” and “The McCarthys.”
Ritter also has acting in his blood. He’s the son of the late actor and comedian, John Ritter, who appeared in Problem Child, Bad Santa, and “Three’s Company.”
During his “NCIS” debut, fans took to social media to tweet their opinion of Ritter. One person tweeted: “Tyler Ritter has the comedy chops of his father. Love him as Luca. #NCIS”
Although we can’t confirm what’s in store for season 19 of the long-running CBS drama, we do know it will probably be a nail-biter.
As for other characters, Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will reportedly be spending less time in front of the camera during season 19. Additionally, Emily Wickersham will also not appear as she left the show during the season 18 finale.
To remedy this, CBS recruited Katrina Law, who played Jessica Knight throughout season 18, to come back for the new season. In addition, Gary Cole, who plays Agent Alden Park, will star as a completely new character— making fans wonder if the show is setting something up so that his character can take over Harmon’s.
On Twitter, CBS announced the arrival of the new characters in a post that read: “Gary Cole and Katrina Law are joining the cast of # NCIS! Watch Mondays at 9/8c this Fall on # CBS.”
Currently, there’s no set premiere date for season 19. However, the new season will air on Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET.
