‘NCIS’: Fans Concerned Major Character’s Fate May Be Sealed After Spotting Troublesome Clue

by Matthew Wilson

“NCIS” fans may be preparing for the worst as the season finale looms. They fear that one character may not make it to Season 19. “NCIS” has seen many faces come and go over the years. Just this season the show parted ways with Dr. Jacqueline “Jack” Sloane.

But could Emily Wickersham’s Ellie Bishop be the next on the chopping block? Fans fear this is the case after noticing a concerning clue. For one, Bishop has been in a will-they-or-won’t they dynamic with fellow character Nick Torres. And it would be typical “NCIS” fashion to build up the romance, just to break viewers’ hearts across the world. Just ask poor Gibbs, who said goodbye to Sloane.

Likewise, “NCIS” fans believe newcomer Agent Jessica Knight, played by Katrina Law, will replace Bishop on the team. That character will make her first appearance in the penultimate episode of the season. But many have speculated Knight may join the NCIS team for further adventures in Season 19. Rather than working alongside Bishop, Knight may ultimately end up replacing her.

Additionally, Bishop is name-dropped in the season finale synopsis meaning the episode may focus on her. One Reddit user appears concerned: “Anyone nervous about Bishop? The cast members for NCIS haven’t said much about the renewal and that’s a little concerning, but the cast for LA spoke about theirs.”

‘NCIS’ Wilmer Valderrama Teases Big Moment

Meanwhile, Nick Torres’ actor Wilmer Valderrama has been building up hype for the end of the season. The actor shared his own thoughts on Torres and Bishop’s potential relationship. He promised that things would come to a head soon on the show.

“We’re coming to a crossroads for these two characters where they have to really be honest about who they are to each other and who they are to themselves […] The question of what they are outside of the badge is something that will be addressed this season,” he told Hello Magazine. “There is a big moment they are going to experience. And who knows, is it the moment they wanted, or a moment they didn’t want?”

Likewise the actor also hyped up the newest character Jessica Knight. He promised the Season Finale would lead into Season 19. His comments don’t exactly quell fears of Bishop’s departure from “NCIS.”

“[The finale] really absolutely blow everyone out of the water. It is absolutely the season finale that the fans deserve and I promise you there will be absolutely no way anybody can predict what’s going to happen,” Valderrama told TV Insider. “The writers did an incredible episode to pay tribute to all the questions that people had from Season 17 to 18 and then really kick off the 19th season.”
