NCIS: Hawai’i fans were on hand for a little romance as Lucy and Kate ended the recent episode with a kiss.
On Wednesday, the show’s social media account wanted to linger a little longer on the developing relationship between Lucy (Yasmine Al-Bustami), the NCIS: Hawai’i agent, and Kate (Tori Anderson), her counterpart in the Defense Intelligence Agency.
The two got together for a very hot scene in the season premiere. Lucy knocked on Kate’s door to apologize for reading some confidential info in one of her files. They ended up in a hot embrace.
But let’s go back to what happened Monday to close the NCIS: Hawai’i episode called The Tourist. The CBS synopsis: “When Tennant and NCIS are tasked with finding a kidnapped globe-trotting social media star, they find that she is not who her husband, or her followers, think she is. Also, the team is at odds with Whistler, who has an agenda of her own.”
But Kate Whistler’s agenda at the end involved a little tenderness. The show’s social media account tweeted: “Is it hot in here, or is it just #kacy?”

As the scene opens, Lucy is waiting for Kate in the parking lot. Kate sees her. ” Thought you’d be snuggling with sea lions by now.”
Lucy said no, the park is closed. “Actually, I’m here to thank you.”
That’s when Kate remarks about how lucky Lucy is to work with such cool agents at NCIS-Pearl Harbor.
“Your team, your boss, you have each other’s backs,” Kate tells her. “And you still want to get a beer at the end of the day. “
“I’m sorry you don’t have that,” Lucy tells her. Then Kate says “it’s not easy always being the bad cop.”
Lucy senses an opening. “I don’t think you’re bad,” she says as she takes a step towards Kate. Then Lucy strokes Kate’s cheek. “I think you’re amazing. … “So you want to grab a beer?”
Kate bends down and kisses Lucy. And scene.
Yes, the showrunners of NCIS: Hawai’i want this romance to keep blossoming. When they wrote Lucy, the intention was for the young agent to be the first openly gay character, from the start, on any of the NCIS shows. And NCIS: Hawai’i likes to show the personal side of its cast.
“We want these characters to feel like they have full lives,” NCIS: Hawai’i producer Jan Nash said.
“They have families, they have interests, they struggle with things — and certainly relationships are a part of that.”
Fans are loving the idea of a Lucy-Kate coupling. One tweeted: Is there a #Kacy fan club group chat I can join. Asking for a friend. … It’s me. I’m the friend.”
Another said: “So well done, that was really romantic.”
