“NCIS: Hawai’i” will be taking a quick break next week, along with the flagship show. Instead of airing an episode on Monday, Oct. 25, the two shows will return on Monday, Nov. 1.
CBS doesn’t give an explicit reason for the brief hiatus. They haven’t even addressed the skip, but per the synopsis for both series’ Episode 6, the air date isn’t until Nov. 1.
TV bloggers Matt & Jess Carter broke the news earlier today. In their minds, “NCIS: Hawai’i” will skip this week because the flagship show is skipping. The network wants to air both shows together to get higher ratings. Plus, it would be weird for one show to wrap up before or after the other at the end of the season.
So, why won’t “NCIS” air next week? It could be any number of reasons. The Carters claim that the network might need more filming time, so they don’t fall behind. CBS also has to consider the “key November sweeps ratings period,” and make sure they fill out that month with episodes. Or maybe, the network wants to do a double-episode premiere in one week.
Either way, the CBS schedule shows that rerun episodes will air in the normal “NCIS” and “Hawai’i” timeslots. You can watch the flagship’s Season 18 Episode 6, “1mm,” at 9 p.m. EST and “Hawai’i” Season 1 Episode 2, “Boom,” at 10 p.m. EST.
Here’s the synopsis for the next “NCIS: Hawai’i” episode, “False Promises,” airing on Nov. 1:
“NCIS investigates the death of a beloved Navy commander who trained some of the top athletes in the country, on the CBS Original series NCIS, Monday, Nov. 1 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.”
‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Premieres New Character Posters Ahead of Last Episode
Earlier this week, the official “NCIS: Hawai’i” Twitter page debuted these awesome character posters for each of our favorites from the show. The captions feature some of their qualities, while the pictures themselves feature iconic quotes superimposed over their faces.
First off, we have Kai, played by Alex Tarrant. He’s described as “The New Guy – Hawai’i local, ex-marine, father’s caretaker,” in the caption. The quote on his image reads, “Never turn your back on the ocean.” Ominous much?
Next, we have Jesse Boone, played by Noah Mills. He’s “The Right Hand Man – Ex-cop, family man, expert interrogator,” on the show. And apparently, he’s very into “clean living.”
And then there’s Yasmine Al-Bustami’s character Lucy Tara, the youngest member of the team. She’s “The Overachiever – Junior Field Agent, sass master, strong-willed.” Sounds like quite the combo. And she knows it too, with her quote reading, “I’m amazing, and you’re totally missing out.”
Finally, we have the “NCIS: Hawai’i” lead, Vanessa Lachey, who plays Special-Agent-in-Charge Jane Tennant. For those who need a reminder, Tennant is “The Boss – Mom, professional badass, Air Force brat.” You can leave all the worrying to her.
