This week, “NCIS: Hawai’i” will be directed by none other than “Jeopardy!” guest host LeVar Burton. And this isn’t the first time he’s directed an “NCIS” spin-off show.
Burton first started directing back in the 1990s, on the iconic show “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” He acted in the show as Lieutenant Geordi La Forge as well. Over the years, Burton has acted in, directed, and produced a number of different projects. But his most recent directing gig happens to be for “NCIS: New Orleans.”
LeVar Burton directed 10 episodes overall for the show, between 2017 and 2021. Now, he’s turning his talents to a different “NCIS” spin-off set in Hawai’i.
“NCIS: Hawai’i” star Jason Antoon shared an adorable selfie with Burton on his Instagram page earlier. The two seem to be in an office of some sort, based on the computers and pictures on the wall in the background. Antoon captioned the post, “The fantastic @levar.burton is directing @ncishawaiicbs this week. What can this man NOT do? #ncishawaii.”
Antoon raises a fair point. Several people love LeVar Burton for different reasons. Some remember him from his “Stark Trek” days. Others from when he hosted “Reading Rainbow,” an 80s kids show. And now, many people adored him for guest-hosting “Jeopardy!” after Alex Trebek passed away. He’s a man of many talents!
It’ll be interesting to see what he brings to the table for “NCIS: Hawai’i” later this week. The episode synopsis reads, “‘Rescuers’ – When a Navy petty officer is murdered, Jane and the team investigate while protecting the victim’s friend and colleague, on the CBS Original series NCIS: Hawai’i, Monday, Nov. 8 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.”
We’ll have to wait until next Monday, Nov. 8, to see how Burton’s “NCIS: Hawai’i” episode plays out.
‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Star Vanessa Lachey’s Husband Talks Family Adjusting to Her Leading Role
“It’s an incredible honor for her. She’s embraced the responsibility of what that means to take on that kind of a role and she’s loving it,” Lachey said.
“[She] worked [her] entire career for this moment. This is her moment, which is why we’re all here to embrace this opportunity with her. And to see what she’s doing and see how she prepares for this day in and day out,” Lachey continued. “How much she cares about her castmates and crew and the way she takes care of them. She’s an incredible person and this is her time to shine. It’s very cool to be on the sidelines watching that happen.”
This is Vanessa Lachey’s biggest role so far, and we’re happy to see her family supporting her as much as “NCIS: Hawai’i” fans are.
