“NCIS: Hawaii” is getting a name change that reflects the state’s language and heritage. It will now be known as “NCIS: Hawai’i” on CBS.

In addition, some cast members are set for the latest “NCIS” incarnation. According to “Deadline,” Vanessa Lachey is going to play Jane Tennant. Lachey’s character marks the first time an “NCIS” show will have a female as its lead character.

Tennant is the Special Agent in Charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor. She reportedly is a single mother with children, so she’s got a balancing act between work and family responsibilities.

Now she has some company, too, as actors Yasmine Al-Bustami and Jason Antoon will be regulars on the show. Al-Bustami appears as Lucy, who is a junior member of Tennant’s team. She’s hell-bent on proving herself in any way possible to her boss. Antoon appears as Ernie, who is the NCIS Cyber Intelligence Specialist. Watch how he breaks down history, technology, and all things Hawaiian in episodes.

‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Actors’ Roles On Other Shows

You might be asking if these actors have been in other shows prior to getting their roles on “NCIS: Hawai’i.” Well, let’s start with Lachey.

She’s married to Nick Lachey, who was part of the boyband 98 Degrees. Vanessa Lachey has been in a recurring role on FOX’s “Call Me Kat.” She also has a guest-star turn on the remake of “Hawaii Five-O.” Meanwhile, Vanessa Lachey has appearances in “Truth Be Told” and “BH90120.”

Al-Bustami has shown up on “The Chosen” and “S.W.A.T.” You might have seen her on The CW’s “The Originals,” too. Antoon had a turn as Dr. Ken on TNT’s show “Claws.”

The “NCIS” brand will now have three shows in CBS’s primetime lineup. “NCIS,” the original show, stars Mark Harmon. “NCIS: Los Angeles” stars Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J. Look for “NCIS: Hawai’i” on your TV sets next season.

Original ‘NCIS’ Show Sees Fan Favorite Leave, But Is It For Good?

Recently, “NCIS” received a renewal notice for its 19th season on CBS. That’s quite a run for this series which has starred Mark Harmon from the get-go.

While there are a lot of regular cast members still with the show all these years later, one recently had become a fan favorite. Maria Bello played Jacqueline “Jack” Sloane, but Bello left the show after she finished filming for the series in December 2020.

Bello says she left the show to spend time with fiancee Dominique Creen, who is diagnosed with cancer.

Fans are wondering if Bello would be open to returning at some point. But she says that she has other projects in the mix right now.

One might use the oft-said phrase “stay tuned” when it comes to Bello possibly appearing again on “NCIS.”
