Vanessa Lachey is elated after “NCIS: Hawai’i” just added two new stars to the cast of the upcoming CBS spin-off. Lachey, who will star as Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant, couldn’t contain her excitement after her new co-star revealed the news. CBS recently revealed that Tori Anderson and Kian Talan would join the series.
“Couldn’t be more excited to join this historic franchise AND the first female led one!! Hawai’i here I come!!” she captioned the Instagram post that included a screenshot announcing the news.
Lachey then commented on Anderson’s Instagram post about the exciting news, writing, “Yes! Let’s GOOOO! Congrats!”
What’s more, Deadline recently confirmed that Kian Talan would also portray Tennant’s 16-year-old son, Alex. Reportedly, Talan’s character is a troubled teenager struggling with his parent’s divorce and lashes out.
Anderson will act as a regular crew member of NCIS’s Pearl Harbour branch. She’ll be playing Kate Whistler, an aspirational team member with a secretive past. Additionally, Anderson and Talan round out the main cast of “NCIS Hawai’i’,” alongside the Yasmine Al-Bustami and Jason Antoon.

Anderson is best known for her role in TeenNick’s “Open Heart” and Nickelodeon’s “The Other Kingdom.” After making the post, her followers and friends expressed their delight in the comments. As a matter of fact, Ben Hollingsworth, star of fellow CBS series “Code Black,” replied: “Yesssssss congrats @tortorra_ @CBS is a great home.”
He added: “Not to mentioned [sic] Hawaii. Slightly better than an olive ranch ;) Have fun!!!” Anderson’s former Killjoys co-star Elena Juatco also wrote: “AHHHHH MY GIRL YESSSSS!!!!!!! Congrats congrats congrats!!!! Hawaii omg. What a freaking dream – you’re gonna kill it!”
Furthermore, fans were just as happy to learn that Talan, a relative newcomer known for Netflix’s docuseries Brainchild, would be joining the cast for the popular CBS crime drama.
On Instagram, he posted about his gratitude for getting the gig on “NCIS: Hawai’i’.” “Mahalo, Salamat, Thank you… to my killer team, to CBS for this opportunity, to Wendy Weidman Casting and everyone else that believed in me from the jump!”
The new spin-off is set to air on Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET right after season 19 of “NCIS” at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. A premiere date has yet to be announced.
