As production of her upcoming series NCIS: Hawai’i officially begins, Vanessa Lachey is taking to Instagram to tease fans about the upcoming series with a new picture. In the Instagram story, Vanessa displays a patch with “If you know, you know” followed by the NCIS Hawai’i hashtags.
As previously reported, the entire NCIS: Hawai’i team landed in Oahu to film the next season on Thursday. The upcoming naval crime-drama show shared a group photo to announce the exciting news with the caption, “Aloha! Production has officially started on #NCISHawaii. See you this fall on @CBSand @ParamountPlus.” Vanessa Lachey, Noah Mills, Jason Antoon, Yasmine Al-Bustami, and Tori Anderson are starring in the third NCIS spin-off.
NCIS: Hawai’i is set to follow the first female Special Agent in charge NCIS Pearl Harbor, Jane Tennant. Lachey is playing the role of Tennant and her team will investigate high-stake crimes with military personnel. In addition to the national security and mysteries of the island state itself. This is the first NCIS series to have a female lead.
The new spinoff is set to air on Monday nights on CBS. The show will also be available on Paramount+.
Vanessa Lachey Shows Excitement For NCIS: Hawai’i on Instagram
Earlier this month, Vanessa Lachey shared her excitement for joining the cast of the upcoming by beaming in an Instagram post, “Couldn’t be more excited to join this historic franchise AND the first female-led one!! Hawai’i here I come!!” She also showed support for her new co-stars by commenting on Anderson’s Instagram, “Yes! Let’s GOOOO! Congrats!”
Vanessa Lachey also discussed making history in the NCIS franchise. “Honored is an understatement! To join the NCIS franchise as the first female lead and to do it on the Beautiful Islands of Hawai’i…” Vanessa explains. “I still can’t believe it! Thank You CBS for believing in me! Now let’s get to work! #NCISHawaii.”
Vanessa did note that “I’m excited to bring a different layer to this role and hopefully inspire this next generation of young girls and women. My character Jane Tennant is the special agent in charge of NCIS. She’s a mother of a 15-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, and that is real life: juggling life, and love, and work.”
Vanessa did state that she’s not taking the first female lead role lightly. “I’m excited to bring a different layer to this role and hopefully inspire this next generation of young girls and women.”
Lachey’s NCIS: Hawai’i is set to replace NCIS: New Orleans, which recently wrapped up in May 2021. NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles are both set to premiere new seasons this fall.
Vanessa’s Career Prior to NCIS: Hawai’i
Lachey previously appeared on various TV shows throughout the years, including That’s Life, City Girls, 30 Rock, and Hawaii Five-O. Vanessa has a recurring role on the CBS series Call Me Kat. She was a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and hosted Total Request Live on MTV.
Vanessa is also married to singer, actor, TV personality, and former member of 98 Degrees, Nick Lachey. She and Nick and co-hosts of Love Is Blind.
