Marriage takes a lot of work for it to be successful. And, according to one-half of a famous couple, persistence is key. That half is Nick Lachey. He is married to “NCIS: Hawai’i” star Vanessa Lachey.
The popular duo celebrated a milestone wedding anniversary on July 15, 2021, according to ET Canada. The “NCIS: Hawai’i” star and the 98 Degrees band member and “The Masked Singer” victor have now been married for 10 years. They have three children together. They are 8-year-old Camden, 6-year-old Brooklyn, and 4-year-old Phoenix.
Nick and Vanessa were married in 2011. Their wedding took place on Necker Island in the Caribbean. This island is privately owned by Sir Richard Branson. The couple first started dating in 2006. Years before she became the star of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” Vanessa appeared in one of Nick’s music videos. This was the video for his solo song, “What’s Left of Me.”
Interestingly, according to Nick Lachey, having success in a marriage takes qualities similar to having success as part of a band.
“You can’t be quitters,” Nick also said about having a strong and successful marriage. “It’s just like a (musical) group – you’re going to have tough days, but you’ve got to be committed, invested and communicate, so that’s what we do.”
Nick Lachey Says He and ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Star Vanessa Lachey ‘Do What Works for Us’ in Their Marriage
In addition to not being quitters, Nick and Vanessa Lachey understand that each marriage is different.
“We certainly don’t know the ins and outs of a happy (marriage) – we just do what works for us,” Nick Lachey also said.
The 98 Degrees singer also said he and his wife take “pride” in their relationship. They also make sure they “protect” and “cherish” what they have.
“Everybody’s different and for us we’ve learned how to communicate well and have a lot of pride in what we’ve built as a couple and as a family,” Nick Lachey said. “We protect and cherish that.”
In the days prior to his 10th wedding anniversary with “NCIS: Hawai’i” star Vanessa Lachey, Nick said they planned to celebrate in – you guessed it – Hawaii.
“My wife just got a job in Hawaii, so we’re going to celebrate there,” Nick also said.
Vanessa took to social media to share a beautiful sunset she and Nick experienced during their milestone honeymoon.
“… So looking back now, I’m glad we took these couple of days, after the wedding, to just “be together… married” and soak it all in, because… life happens. So make sure you take time to make the moments matter. Even if they are quick, the memories will last a lifetime. …” the “NCIS: Hawai’i” actress shared on Instagram.
