‘NCIS: Hawai’i’: Where You’ve Seen Jason Antoon Before Role of Ernie Malik on Show

For future viewers of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” actor Jason Antoon may seem very familiar to some of you. The reason for that is he has had a pretty successful acting career that goes made to the late 1990s.

As fans will soon become aware, Antoon plays the character of Ernie Malik in what is expected to be another popular CBS series. According to the show’s website, “NCIS” Hawai’i” follows a group that “is a skilled mix of mainland transplants who’ve re-located to the tranquility of the Pacific and wizened locals who know their mahalo from kapu.”

Jason Antoon comes to the show with many years of experience as an actor on the small screen. According to IMDb, for example, he appeared as the character of Dr. Ruben in a 2016 episode of “Shameless.” This episode was titled “Hiraeth.”

Antoon also acted in “Grey’s Anatomy.” In this wildly popular television series, Antoon played the character of Mr. Samuels in a 2013 episode titled, “I Bet It Stung.”

In 2017, this future “NCIS” Hawai’i” actor appeared in an episode of “Fresh Off the Boat.” He played the character of Eddie in an episode titled, “Living While Eddie.”

These are just a few examples of the work of Jason Antoon over the years. He also appeared in the famous 2002 Steven Spielberg film, “Minority Report.”

In this film, which starred Tom Cruise, Antoon of “NCIS” Hawai’i” played the character of Rufus Riley at Cyber Parlor. His role in “Minority Report” came about thanks to a role the now 49-year-old actor had in the Broadway production of “Contact.”

Spielberg reportedly saw Antoon perform in this musical, which won a Tony award, and decided to give him a part in the sci-fi film.

Jason Antoon was born in Santa Monica, California, on Nov. 9. 1971. He decided to pursue acting and did so by studying at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University. After he earned his bachelor’s degree in drama, Antoon worked on Broadway, mostly as an understudy.

For example, he was an understudy in Steve Martin’s show, “Picasso at the Lapin Agile.” It was in 2000 that he landed his role in “Contact.” This role, as previously mentioned, led to his part in “Minority Report.”

If you want to see actor Jason Antoon in action, you can do so when “NCIS’ Hawai’i” debuts in September 2021. The series will air its very first episode on Monday, Sept. 20. The air time will be 10 p.m. The debut episode will follow the 19th season premiere of the beloved “NCIS” series.

Fans of the show should take note of this date. In the past, “NCIS” has aired on Tuesday nights. So, this September air date marks a change in tradition.
