If you’re an art buff like me then there are a couple of givens on your bucket list. How about seeing the Mona Lisa with your very own eyes? Or an original Matisse? Monet? Picasso? Well, you don’t need to have an art history degree to have heard about Vincent Van Gogh. He’s the talent behind “Starry Night” and “The Sunflowers.”
An expo featuring Van Gogh’s work recently set up shop in a slew of different cities across the world showcasing the future of museums. They promise a “360-degree digital art experience” and “NCIS” star Katrina Law thinks it’s totally worth it. Check out how she spent some cherished off-time at the Los Angeles stop below.
Katrina Law Attends a Highly Anticipated Art Exhibit
“Magical and haunting.” That’s how Katrina Law describes the “Traveling Van Gogh Experience.” And from the stunning series of photos that she posted, I totally understand what Katrina Law means. Look at the detail in those beautiful projections!
The “NCIS” star wields a sunflower in her mouth as she smiles at the camera behind a mask from a socially-distanced pod. It looks like Katrina Law and her gal pals even walked away from the exhibit with some souvenirs. Two of them chose teddy bears bearing the famous “Starry Night” painting. However, another chose a teddy bear decorated with “The Sunflowers.”
Headed to a City Near You
Now, Katrina Law tags all the information for the Van Gogh expo in her own post, but I’ll break it down for you here as well. Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience makes use of light and sound in order to make the visitors a part of the installment.
The global exhibit is currently stationed in most major cities including the following: LA, New York, Chicago, Charlotte, Houston, Nashville, Denver, Kansas City, and Phoenix. Access a full list of them here.
The Denver stop alone boasts 500,000 Cubic Feet Of Projections, 60,600 Frames Of Video, and 90,000,000 Pixels. So, what I’m really trying to say is, you should probably just Van Gogh. (The Van is silent.)
