“NCIS: Los Angeles” will not be airing any new episodes until the beginning of 2022. Fans of the show are unhappy about the hiatus.

After airing last night’s episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” CBS announces that there will not be any new episodes of the drama for the next few weeks. While the network is not giving a reason for the hiatus, it is likely due to the upcoming schedule of holiday specials airing, including “One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga,” among others. CBS did not announce the show’s re-air date either.

Fans are taking to social media to express their unhappy reactions to the news. The response made by fans comes after the show’s recent two-week break between episode five and episode six, which occurred due to scheduling changes. This newly-announced break leaves viewers hanging right in the middle of the season.

“No more new episodes of LA for the rest of the year? Uncool, CBS. Uncool,” @KamenzieStarr writes.

“What nooooooo that was the last one now we gotta wait til jan 2nd oh my god” @SaveMacGyver21 replies.

Positive comments about last night’s episode are also flooding social media. The hashtag #NCISLosAngeles on Twitter is full of fun reactions and commentary.

“Crying and intensely watching,” @BanksKelli writes.

“This episode is definitely a lot to take in,” @abpf91 adds.

While fans are unsure of when they will watch the next new episode, last night’s ratings prove their engagement. CBS network reports a whopping 10 million viewers for last night’s episode alone. These numbers are remarkable for a series that has been on television for 12 years.

Could “NCIS: Los Angeles” Be Ending Soon?

Could Season 13 be the final season for “NCIS: Los Angeles?” Fans are wondering if the mid-season break hints at the end of the CBS spinoff. Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill says that this question is always on the writers’ minds.

“We sort of always have that in the back of our mind, and this year wasn’t any different,” Gemmill says about the show’s previous season. “Next season, I hope to get a heads-up if that is the case, just so that we can go out with an episode or a bunch of episodes that really tie up things and send our characters into the future in a way that makes everyone happy.”

While the show ending after thirteen seasons is a possibility, Gemmill notes that he never knows what decision the network will make.

“We’ll just have to wait and see. No one ever knows. If there is someone that knows, they’re not telling me!”

Viewers will just have to wait until 2022 to see what happens to their favorite characters. Until then, they can stream previous episodes of the series on Google Play and Paramount+.
