“NCIS: Los Angeles” star Chris O’Donnell stays busy when he’s both on and off the set. After all, Outsiders, he’s got five kids at home.
O’Donnell, who plays NCIS Special Agent G. Callen, has had his wife, Caroline, and four of his five children on the show. That’s according to a 2020 article from Country Living.
Lily, their oldest child, appeared with her brother, Charlie, in a 2010 episode called “Callen, G.” In that episode, Charlie actually appears as a younger Callen in the CBS crime drama.
‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Star’s Son Played Young Callen In 2 Episodes
Finley, another son, popped up in two episodes in 2011. He also played a younger Callen in “Tin Soldiers” and “Lange, H.” Christopher, another one of O’Donnell’s sons, has not appeared on “NCIS: Los Angeles.”
Another daughter, Maeve, popped up with Caroline on a 2015 episode called “Command and Control.”
O’Donnell happened to talk about Maeve’s appearance in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“She had one little line, and she would rehearse it at home,” O’Donnell said. “She was a little nervous when she got there, but then she arrived at my trailer and they put a big star with her name on the board.”
For the “NCIS: Los Angeles” star, having a big family is not new to him. The one-time Robin from “Batman Forever” and “Batman & Robin” had six brothers and sisters as a kid.
Having a Big Family Is Nothing New For O’Donnell to Handle
O’Donnell, in a 2010 interview with Redbook, said, “When I’m sitting in the backyard at the end of the day with a glass of wine, watching the kids having fun and clowning around, for me, that’s what it’s all about.”
Big family, big heart. O’Donnell appears to have it made as a family man.
He’s also got it made with “NCIS: Los Angeles.” That show kicks off its 13th season on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 10, at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central.
What’s rather interesting for the “NCIS” franchise of shows is they will be clumped together between Sunday and Monday nights. “NCIS,” which had aired on Tuesday nights, will now be on Mondays at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Central. It will lead into a new spin-off titled “NCIS: Hawai’i” with Vanessa Lachey as its main star.
Callen will ride again this season with his partner Sam Hanna, played by LL Cool J. Other cast members expected back include Daniela Ruah, Linda Hunt, and Eric Christian Olsen. Hunt returns as “Hetty” and will be on the show’s set. Last season, her appearances were shot at her Los Angeles home due to COVID-19 protocols. But she’s going to be back behind her desk.
