NCIS: Los Angeles is teasing a tense affair for its Sunday night offering.

From the clues the show is dropping, we know that Rountree is stuck on a hijacked bus. And Sam is doing the negotiations. CBS offered this NCIS: Los Angeles plot summary for the episode called Sundown. “Sam negotiates and Rountree goes undercover, when a man takes a busload of hostages and threatens to blow it up unless his daughter’s war crimes are posthumously cleared.”

The NCIS: Los Angeles social media account dropped a snap of Rountree (Caleb Castille) on the bus with his hands up. It was captioned: “Don’t get off yet — we’re almost at your stop. We’ve got an all-new NCISLA TONIGHT — and it’s a nail-biter.”

LL Cool J Also Offered a Tease for NCIS: Los Angeles Episode

And if that isn’t enough to draw you into the episode, let LL Cool J, aka Sam Hanna, lure you in with a little drama of his own. He posted an up-close photo from the episode on his Instagram account. And there are in-your-face guns.

LL Cool J captioned it: “Switch & Lance are bringing out the big guns on ncisla. Tune in tonight.” The actor/hip-hop star is all over television this weekend. HBO Max showed the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction show and concert Saturday night. It’s now available for on-demand and streaming. Outsiders, you can check out the details here. LL Cool J was front and center during most of the ceremony.

NCIS: Los Angeles also will continue the side plot of Kensi and Deeks’ quest for a kid. Note, there’s a decided parenting theme to the episode. Fans know that Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) want to adopt a baby. It’s been an ongoing side story since season 13 premiered, Oct. 10. Kensi already asked Hetty to be a reference for their adoption application. (She said no, but it has more to do with Callen than Kensi). We also know that the couple said they’d be open to adopting a baby from any race. This detail came up when the agents were investigating a hate crime against an elderly Vietnam War vet, who was Japanese-American.

In Sunday’s episode, they have an informational meeting at the adoption agency. Kensi can’t cut off her agent instincts. So she takes out a pair of binoculars as she waits with Deeks in the car.

Meanwhile, Jacqueline Obradors is a guest star in Sunday’s NCIS: Los Angeles episode. She plays an LAPD captain. Her name probably is familiar to those who watch Bosch. She plays detective Christina Vega on the series.
