Actors lead exciting lives. Part of that excitement, however, is due to the potential for filming in exotic locations. That’s all well and good. But for folks with families, that part of the job can take a toll. “NCIS: Los Angeles” star Chris O’Donnell is one of them. And it’s safe to say he’s happy with the consistency and relative ease of filming a show local to his area. During the pandemic, that ease got taken to a whole new level.

Since 2009, “NCIS: Los Angeles” has been portraying Special Agents G. Callen, Sam Hanna, and their team as they work to expose criminal elements in LA. Chris O’Donnell has been along for the entire ride. Over the course of 280 episodes, he has played the part of Special Agent Callen.

In a recent interview with WUSA9, Chris O’Donnell talked about what he did with his time when the demands of “NCIS: Los Angeles” were eased as a result of the pandemic.

“There was a lot of things that I always said I was going to do around the house. But suddenly, because you can’t go anywhere, I must have hung about 40 things on the wall throughout this house,” O’Donnell said. “I mean there’s just all these frames. ‘Someday I’m going to hang that somewhere.’ Suddenly walls are full. I always said I was going to get a flag pole in front of the house. I finally got a flag pole. Just like crazy things.”

So with all the extra time on his hands, O’Donnell got around to the stuff he always said he was going to do. And that includes landscaping. Apparently, there was nothing wrong with his yard. But because he was looking at it so often, he began to change stuff around. Relatable.

The ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Star is Coming Back for Yet Another Season

After 12 seasons of playing their characters on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J will be returning for Season 13.

Fans were concerned recently when it was announced that longtime series regulars Renne Felice Smith and Barrett Foa would be making their respective exits from the show.

“Ultimately, I could say something profound but I just want to say thank you. Thank you for respecting Nell. Thank you for embracing Nell, for embracing her intelligence,” Felice Smith told TVLine in May. “I’ve always been cast as kind of the ‘funny friend,’ the quirky turkey. I was the nurse in ‘Romeo & Juliet’ when I auditioned for Juliet in high school. But with Nell, I really got to play so much more, and I am just so grateful to have been able to play the ‘smart girl,’ quite frankly.”

Fortunately for fans, Eric Christian Olsen and Daniela Ruah, who play the adorable Deeks and Kensi, will also be back next season.
