Speaking to Entertainment Tonight – Canada recently, “NCIS: Los Angeles” star Chris O’Donnell described costar LL Cool J as “predictable,” but for a reason that you might not expect.

Between the busy schedules and personal endurance, O’Donnell told the entertainment news website that LL and his character – Agent Sam Hanna – are both predictable in that they can endure whatever life throws their way.

“LL is a pretty extraordinary individual,” O’Donnell said. “I think that what he’s done throughout his career, the longevity he’s hand, and the ability to reinvent himself in so many different ways and to have his toe in so many different areas of the business, and other businesses.”

On the show, O’Donnell plays G. Callen, the Special Agent-in-Charge of the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles. LL Cool J is number-two in the ranks: Agent Hanna, a former Navy SEAL. At NCIS, Hanna is chasing the worst criminals Los Angeles has to offer. Likewise, his wife is a former CIA officer. Both characters have appeared in all 280 episodes thus far, according to IMDB.

“He has a passion for being LL Cool J, and when I think he’s exhausted or isn’t going to post-up for that, he shows up ready to work,” O’Donnell said. “There are times that I ask him ‘what are you doing this weekend?’ and he tells me that he doesn’t know because he’s waiting on his assistant to tell him what events he’s doing.”

But as O’Donnell pointed out, LL Cool J just “wakes up and goes through it. It’s pretty amazing.”

Season 12 Of ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Ends With A Bang

Season 12 of “NCIS: Los Angeles” ended with both Eric and Nell resigning from NCIS. The two are part of the tech team, with Nell becoming the Acting Operations Manager in Hetty’s absence. As key members of the team, their absence will have a ripple effect on the rest of its members.

In the next season, fans are expecting both Callen and Hanna to start diving deeper into their relationship. Neither character has been very upfront with the other about their past or personal lives, for that matter. Up until this point, both characters have essentially been in “action mode” the entire time.

The Season 13 trailer makes this apparent as both Callen and Hanna question each other about whether or not the other has ever been in a gang.
