‘NCIS’: Has Maria Bello Appeared in Any New Shows Since Leaving Program?

Following her departure from the set of NCIS after nearly four years as Jack Sloane, and now fans are wondering what is Maria Bello’s next project?

According to her IMDb, the NCIS alum doesn’t have anything lined up in terms of acting, but she is a producer for the upcoming film, The Woman King. The film’s description states it is inspired by the true events that occurred in The Kingdom of Dahomey, which is considered one of the most powerful states of Africa in the 18th and 19th centuries. 

Starring in The Woman King is Viola Davis, Sheila Atim, Lashana Lynch, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and John Boyega. The film is currently in production and is expected to premiere on September 16, 2022.  

Last last year, Bello announced she was officially departing from NCIS. in an Instagram post, which featured her hugging Mark Harmon, Bello wrote, “I’ve learned many things on this journey for the last three and a half years. I learned about commitment and community. I’ve learned that the woman I am enjoys process over product.”

Bello also stated that she has never worked with a kinder, more generous group of people than she has while working on the set of NCIS. “I made a speech today for our crew. Though in our business, like many, there are quite a few a—holes. There is not one on the set of NCIS.”

Bello went on to encourage her fans to continue watching NCIS. “I have a feeling there will be many more years to come. Thank you to all of my pals at NCIS and to all our fans. I am truly grateful.”

‘NCIS’ Alum Maria Bello Shares More Details About ‘The Woman King’

In a February 2021 interview with TV Insider, NCIS alum Maria Bello shared more details about the upcoming film The Woman King. “I’ve had the commitment for years to make a movie, The Woman King, with Viola Davis,” Bello explained.

Bello then described the movie as being like the female Braveheart based on 5,000 women warriors in the 18th and 19th centuries. They are located in Dahomey, which is modern-day Benin. “The French said they were the biggest bada—es they’d ever fought.”

Maria Bello Discusses the Relationship Between ‘NCIS’ Characters Gibbs and Sloane 

Prior to leaving NCIS, Maria Bello spoke to CinemaBlend about the relationship between Mark Harmon’s Gibbs and her Sloane. “As you’ve seen over these last three and a half years, Gibbs and Sloane have become good pals. They really like each other.”

Bello also stated that the NCIS characters have learned to respect each other as well as trust each other. “They have a good sense of humor between them. I think it’s been teased a lot. Some people are like, ‘Are they really sleeping together? Weren’t they? Was there a romance?’ Who knows if that question will ever be answered?”
