Earlier this year, NCIS fans said goodbye to Maria Bello when she left the series after five years.

Now, fans of the longtime actress are saying goodbye to more than just her NCIS character, Jacqueline “Jack” Sloane, they are also bidding farewell to the actress as she takes a break from much of her social media.

Earlier this week, the NCIS actress shared a post to her Instagram account, telling her followers that she is “re-evaluating” her relationship with social media. And, the actress notes, it might be some time before she returns.

“Like many of you I am re-evaluating my relationship with all social media,” the actress said in her recent Instagram post.

Maria Bello went on to note that she came to this conclusion because of social media’s impact on the younger generation.

“There are many reasons, but the main one being it is now common knowledge that it is toxic for young girls,” the NCIS actress explains.

Bello notes that she doesn’t know exactly how long she’ll be gone from the site, but she certainly appreciates all of her followers.

“Perhaps I will be back after a deep dive but who knows,” Bello tells her fans in the Insta post.

“I appreciate every one of you,” the actress notes.

The actress also notes that while she follows one political route, she’s grateful for her “Kind followers from both sides of the aisle.”

“I honor you all so much for your kindness,” Bello adds. “Love always wins. I’m sure of that.”

Bello Bids Farewell To ‘NCIS’

Maria Bello starred as Jack Sloane on the popular CBS series from 2017 until 2021.

Bello’s Jack Sloane character was certainly a fan-favorite for many seasons, and many NCIS watchers were sad to see Bello’s character leave the hit procedural series.

According to reports, while she was sad to leave the series, it was ultimately Bello’s choice that Jack Sloane not return for NCIS’s nineteenth season which premiered this fall.

“I’ve learned many things on this journey for the last three and a half years,” Bello said in a post announcing her final NCIS episodes.

“I learned about commitment and community,” the actress continues. “I’ve learned that the woman I am enjoys process over product.”

The NCIS star went on to note that she enjoyed working with everyone during her time on NCIS.

“I’ve never worked with a kinder, more generous group of people,” the actress notes.

Of course, even if Jack wasn’t going to be returning for NCIS’s nineteenth season, Bello told her fans that she hopes they “keep watching” the hit series.

“I have a feeling there will be many more years to come,” Bello says. “Thank you to all of my pals at NCIS and to all of our fans. I am truly grateful.”
