Following the swift takeover of the Afghan nation by the feared Taliban terrorist group, United States citizens are sharing prayers to protect our American troops. President Joe Biden and the U.S. government recently decided to send 3,000+ American soldiers back into Afghanistan. The U.S. will station soldiers there to assist in evacuations. Since then, people have been sharing their thoughts on social media, keeping those involved in the situation in their prayers. Most recently, “NCIS: New Orleans” alum Lucas Black urged followers to pray once again that our troops remain safe.
Let’s Pray for the Afghan people, the American citizens in Afghanistan, and our troops. May the Lord protect them!— Lucas Black (@TheLucasBlack) August 18, 2021
Currently, our nation watches and waits to see how each day proceeds. And Americans plow through controversy concerning the president’s decision to go back into the Middle Eastern country. Followers of Black and his belief expressed support in his tweet, many simply commenting, “Amen.”
Lucas Black is unafraid to share his beliefs and passions via social media. His page boasts photos of his nephew who is a member of the marine core. He also shares his commitment to American core values and his religious beliefs. And while many people may claim to pray over our troops, there is no doubt Black practices what he preaches. A CBS article once stated that Black came from a religious upbringing and has continued to practice his beliefs into adulthood. According to the outlet, he’ll occasionally share an inspiring quote or bible verse on his Twitter in reference to his faith.
‘NCIS: New Orleans’ Lucas Black Faced Controversy Following A Post About Homeschooling
Biden’s decision has already met major pushback. And as we’ve seen, Lucas Black never holds back in sharing his personal, religious, and political beliefs. Currently, Americans are left to consider the current political and militaristic state of our nation. However, American citizens are also facing other difficult choices as schools begin to open again.
Lucas Black, in a July 29th Twitter post, asked followers if people are “ready to homeschool [their] children yet[.]” While homeschooling has consistently been a point of contention for American parents for years, the decision is becoming more controversial now depending on one’s reasoning for the decision.
Some Americans claim that those who decide to homeschool their children are cowardly, frequently termed “sheeple,” as that particular group of people continues to move forward with precautions made common during the highs of COVID-19 lockdowns. More parents claim, as they shared in response to Black’s post, that in-person schooling is detrimental to a child’s growth. And still others are pulling their students from public schools to avoid “indoctrination” education.
Lucas Black’s earlier posts surround numerous topics that American parents are struggling with today, from mask mandates to vaccine requirements to critical race theory. Overall, if you’re looking for an individual platform with which to engage in these controversial yet necessary conversations, it appears Lucas Black’s Twitter page is the place to go.
