‘NCIS: New Orleans’ Former Star Lucas Black Explains How He’ll Celebrate Independence Day 2021 ‘Like Never Before’

by Quentin Blount

There is no question that July 4th weekend is a reason to celebrate for many Americans. But one former star from NCIS: New Orleans says that his family will be taking it up a notch.

Nowadays, Lucas York Black is best known for his role as Special Agent Christopher LaSalle on CBS’s NCIS: New Orleans. However, black has appeared in numerous television shows and movies. You might recognize him in American Gothic, Sling Blade, Flash, Crazy in Alabama, All the Pretty Horses, Friday Night Lights, Jarhead, The Fast and the Furious: Toyko Drift, Get Low, Legion, and Seven Days in Utopia. Quite the list right?

Well, that’s not the only impressive thing that the former NCIS: New Orleans star has going for him. He took to social media on Sunday morning to say that his family would be celebrating the holiday weekend “like never before.” While we aren’t exactly sure what Black means by that, we have to assume it’s something as awesome as he is.

“Our family will celebrate the 4th of July like never before,” Black wrote on Twitter. “We thank God for our fore fathers who wrote and signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776 the birth of our great Nation. Happy birthday, America. #Independence Day #4thofJuly #America”

‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Reruns and ‘NCIS’ Marathon Taking Place During 4th of July Weekend

It’s not just stars of NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, and NCIS: New Orleans that will be celebrating Independence Day this weekend. Fans of the popular military crime shows will have their own reasons to celebrate.

The official NCIS: Los Angeles Instagram account posted a photo of LL Cool J — the man who plays Special Agent Sam Hanna — alongside an announcement that they will be airing reruns of the show beginning on Sunday, July 4.

“For all the reasons to celebrate, here are two more,” NCIS: Los Angeles wrote alongside the photo. “Reruns of #NCISLA on tonight at 9/8c and tomorrow at 10/9c. Let the barbecuing, boat-lounging, and binge-watching commence.”

However, the fun does not end there. Whether you are a newly acquainted NCIS fan or you’re a loyal fan who just wants to binge old episodes, you are in for a treat this weekend. WETV confirmed that the station will air a two-day NCIS marathon beginning on Sunday, July 4 as well.

We aren’t quite certain when Season 19 of NCIS will officially premiere. We just know it will be sometime this fall. But we do know that many of our favorite characters — including Mark Harmon as Leroy Jethro Gibbs — will be back and better than ever.

We also know one more thing: There isn’t much better than celebrating the 4th of July with your family, fireworks, and favorite special agents.
