Premiere season is almost upon us! And, among the many exciting fall premieres that we have been awaiting is the season nineteen premiere of NCIS.
And, as with many of the long-awaited upcoming premieres, there is quite a bit to discuss as we gear up to check in on the NCIS team when the hit show returns to television later this month.
First, the question on everyone’s mind is what will happen to NCIS team leader, Leroy Jethro Gibbs? When we last saw the NCIS team officer, he was swimming away after his boat exploded while he was on board.
Other topics we are waiting to find answers to are, where is the team headed at this point; and, what are we going to expect from the new faces coming to the popular CBS series?
There is one new character, in particular, that has intrigued fans ever since his addition to the show was announced earlier this summer: Gary Cole’s Alden Park.
So far, we know the veteran actor is slated to join the NCIS team in some capacity as the character Alden Park. But what else do we know about this new NCIS player?

What Do We Know About NCIS’s Alden Park?
So far, NCIS producers have been pretty quiet about Gary Cole’s newest character. Very few details have been available since the series addition was announced this summer.
One thing that we do know is that with the star power behind Cole’s name in the business, Alden Park will be a prominent figure on NCIS; however, exactly what that will mean isn’t quite clear yet.
As of now, we have learned that Alden Park has a background with the FBI. In fact, it seems very likely that he is still very much involved in his federal position.
Will Alden Park Replace Gibbs?
Some NCIS fans have suggested that Cole’s character may end up being a replacement for Gibbs (Mark Harmon). This comes after it was announced Harmon would only be featured in a handful of episodes in the upcoming season.
However, the fact that Alden Park is FBI, and not NCIS could suggest that he wasn’t brought in to entirely replace the NCIS officer.
Furthermore, reports have stated that Gary Cole’s name isn’t mentioned in the cast list for the season nineteen premiere episode. So, it will likely be further into the upcoming season that we even meet Alden Park at all.
A Well-known Name
Gary Cole most recently starred in the CBS series, The Good Fight.
Gary Cole portrayed Kurt McVeigh, husband to the show’s lead, Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) in the hit series. Of course, Gary Cole reprised this role from The Good Fight’s CBS predecessor, The Good Wife.
