Not all celebrities love to have their personal lives highlighted in the press. Mark Harmon of “NCIS” is one of those actors who prefers to keep his relationship private.

Many people might think that all celebrities love the spotlight. And while that may be true when it comes to onscreen roles, it’s not always the case for celebrities in their everyday lives. Many famous people prefer to live quiet lives when the cameras are turned off. Mark Harmon, who plays Leroy Jethro Gibbs in “NCIS” is one of those celebrities. In fact, he’s been open about the fact that he and his wife, actress, Pam Dawber prefer to stay out of the spotlight when they aren’t working.

During an interview in 2017, the “NCIS” star said that the two of them don’t even purposefully avoid the spotlight, they’re just naturally private people.

“It’s not even a choice,” said Harmon. “It’s who we are. We stay home. A lot. I’m not a Twitter guy or a Facebook guy. Our sons aren’t into that either. Pam and I have both made a living in this business, and still, there’s a part of that that’s just not natural.”

Decades earlier, Dawber said something similar right before she and Mark married. During an interview in 1987, Dawber talked about why she and Harmon wanted to keep their relationship private.

“We’re not trying to keep something secret,” said Dawber. “But if you don’t want it totally exploited by the press, you have to.”

Mark Harmon and Pam Dawber are Acting Together During This Season of ‘NCIS’

It’s no secret that Mark Harmon is an “NCIS” star. But, this season, he got to act alongside his wife on the show. Since April 6th, Dawber has guest-starred on “NCIS” as Marcie Warren, a seasoned investigative journalist. Although she took a break from acting to raise her and Harmon’s two sons, Sean Harmon and Ty Christian, Dawber was a queen of the sitcoms in the 1980s. She starred alongside Robin Williams in the “Happy Days” spinoff “Mork & Mindy” and also the sitcom “My Sister Sam.”

During an interview in 2016, Dawber talked about taking a break from acting to spend time with her family.

“I was in a number one show. I had my own deal. I got to do Broadway. I got to do musical theater. I got to do cartoon voices,” said Dawber. “I did everything you can do in this business, and then I had children and it’s like, ‘I’m not going to chase this fame thing.'”

Nevertheless, now she’s back in show business along with her husband for her stint with “NCIS” this season.
