‘NCIS’ Star Reveals How Season 18 Finale Will Set Stage for Next Season

Things are heating up on “NCIS” as the series heads to its Season 18 finale. And the show is already turning its gaze to next season. According to one star, fans should expect the fallout of the episode to continue into the Season 19 premiere.

Series lead Wilmer Valderrama, who plays Special Agent Nick Torres, spoke with TV Insider about the upcoming finale. He promised the last two episodes will have all the thrills that fans want and expect. But maybe “NCIS” should prepare for a cliffhanger. Because Valderrama promises the finale will kick off the next season with a bang.

“[The finale] really absolutely blow everyone out of the water. It is absolutely the season finale that the fans deserve and I promise you there will be absolutely no way anybody can predict what’s going to happen,” Valderrama told the outlet. The writers did an incredible episode to pay tribute to all the questions that people had from Season 17 to 18 and then really kick off the 19th season.”

So what can fans expect? Well someone is coming after the NCIS themselves. But fortunately, the team will have a new face to help out.

The synopsis for the episode reads: “When members of an NCIS Regional Enforcement Action Capabilities Training Team (REACT) are killed during an explosion, NCIS Special Agent Jessica Knight, the lone surviving member, helps crack the case using high tech body armor.”

Katrina Law Will Guest Star on ‘NCIS’

Katrina Law will portray REACT Special Agent Jessica Knight in the final two episodes. Based on the synopsis, it sounds like Law’s character will have a special set of skills. Fans may be seeing a lot of Law and her new character in the near future. It sounds like Knight may stick around for Season 19 and become the newest series regular on the team.

Law will make her debut as Knight the appropriately titled “Blown Away” on May 18. She will also appear in the finale as well.

“[Law’s] character has a very interesting kickoff,” Valderrama continued. “Her energy just fits right in and we’re having a lot of fun. Both of our characters have a lot of interesting dynamics and energies and philosophies [in common], so I think these two characters are going to have fun in the field as well.”

In a bit of coincidence, Law previously in the “NCIS” universe as a different character. Law played on “Hawaii Five-0,” which crossed over with “NCIS: Los Angeles.”
