‘NCIS’ Star Wilmer Valderrama Calls Touring with USO One of His ‘Proudest Moments’

Not only does Wilmer Valderrama star in the popular series “NCIS,” he’s also a USO Global Ambassador! The famous actor/activist received this honor at the USO’s 80th anniversary. In his previous role as a USO Tour Veteran, he assisted in leading the effort to “give more than thanks to the military community.”

According to USO.org, Valderrama has been a long-time supporter. He describes his first experience as a Tour Veteran entertaining U.S. troops overseas:

“So I got on this plane and the first trip [with the USO] I went to was Germany, and I brought my comedy show there, and the audience was just the most amazing audience to perform for, man, he continued in an interview with Movieline. “They were just hungry for entertainment and humor… I went to nine countries back-to-back, and then I went to Iraq and Afghanistan, and now I’m a longtime member of the USO.”

Now, as a Global Ambassador, the renowned actor continues to support the organization’s “Give More Than Thanks” initiative. The campaign encourages Americans to use action in order to express their gratitude for the service of troops. Additionally, Valderrama participates in events for service members, as well as raising awareness of the military’s needs.

“Touring with the USO has been one of the proudest moments of my career because it has given me the chance to pay my respect and personally express my gratitude to our servicemen and women,” he expressed on PRNewsWire.com.

Wilmer Valderrama Travels Overseas to Perform for USO

Dedicating his time and talent, Wilmer Valderrama gives back to service members and their families. He performed for several events throughout his acting career. Including the annual USO Holiday Tour, and more. According to PRNewsWire.com, this is a list of places he’s served already:

  • First tour in 2007 to Germany
  • Eight USO tours visiting nine international locations (Germany, Poland, South Korea, Afghanistan, Djibouti, Greenland, Norway, Bahrain, Iraq) and a ship at sea; and three domestic locations
  • One USO Holiday Tour with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 2018
  • More than 40 USO performances
  • USO MVP session broadcast worldwide to 13 installations in the U.S., United Arab Emirates, Germany, Japan, Italy and Iraq
