“NCIS” star Emily Wickersham had to know her character, Ellie Bishop, inside and out to portray her on “NCIS.” But Wickersham said that in one area, she just couldn’t relate to Bishop.
And what would that be? Bishop’s addiction to junk food, of course.
In a 2016 interview with Good Housekeeping, Wickersham shared that she basically doesn’t get Bishop’s nonstop cravings for junk food.
“Bishop is a big junk food eater and I can’t really relate,” Wickersham said. “I’m generally pretty healthy when it comes to my food choices, but I do love chocolate. Desserts are a downfall for me.”
Sounds like Wickersham might have an inkling of Bishop’s problem after all.
Wickersham Recently Departed ‘NCIS’
The “NCIS” actress recently left the show after her character was dispatched on a secret undercover mission. Unfortunately for Ellie Bishop fans, “NCIS” won’t be following her on that mission.
Wickersham broke the news to fans on Instagram after the show’s Season 18 finale.
“Hangin this hat and jacket up,” Wickersham wrote in the Instagram post. “What a great ride it’s been. This cast, this crew, are top notch. I can’t say enough kind words about this group that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for close to 8 years now and 172 episodes later.”
The actress joined “NCIS” in Season 5 as a guest star. Before long, she became part of the cast.
“This business is finicky and weird and consistency is a rarity,” Wickersham added of her “NCIS” experience. “I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of a show where I got to show up and act and laugh and learn with wonderful people. A moment in time I surely won’t forget. Thank you CBS and NCIS for including me in a part of television history. Time goes fast. Eat it up but chew slowly.”
There was no word on what prompted Wickersham’s exit. But the official CBS Instagram account did leave a comment on Wickersham’s announcement that read, “Thanks for making history with us,” which would seem to imply they parted ways with Wickersham on a happy note.
Meanwhile, fans and castmates alike were saddened by the actress’s departure. Wickersham also got a comment from her co-star, Jimmy Palmer actor Brian Dietzen.
“So damn proud of you my friend,” Dietzen wrote on Instagram. “Also, I’m gonna miss the hell outta you on set. I can’t wait to see what you do next. Whatever it is, I’ll be there in the front row.”
