‘NCIS’ Actor Wilmer Valderrama Detailed His Leg Day Workouts, Says Why He’s Happy with His ‘Glutes’

It’s the most dreaded part of any workout regimen. Many of us go out of our way to avoid entirely. When we finally get around to it, we end up waddling around for the next few days. We’re talking about leg day. And it can be brutal. But “NCIS” star Wilmer Valderrama is blessed with a naturally voluminous backside. So his leg workouts are relatively easy compared to the rest of us mortals.

Some wouldn’t even recognize the “NCIS” star these days. Valderrama is best-known for playing the iconic character Fez on “That 70s Show.” But in the years since the role that launched his career, he’s been hitting the gym… a lot.

Now, he plays Special Agent Nick Torres on “NCIS.” It’s safe to say he looks the part. The man is a muscle-bound monster. And we mean that in the best of ways. He is a far cry from the lisping foreign exchange student that audiences came to know and love on “That 70s Show.”

As a result of his transformation, Wilmer Valderrama has become a symbol of men’s fitness. And in a 2019 interview the “NCIS” star did with Men’s Health, he talked about how he tackles a leg day workout.

“You know, I’m really happy with how voluptuous my glutes are, so I feel like I don’t need to add more junk in the trunk. You feel me? So I do a lot of bodyweight stuff, you know,” Valderrama said. “I don’t do a lot of heavy weights. But occasionally, when I want to build strength and want to sprint faster then I’ll work on that.”

The ‘NCIS’ Star is More Worried About Strengthening His Joints

Many can relate to the physical changes that come along with getting a little older. Years of strain on knees, hips, shoulders, and elbows take their toll on any person, fitness junkie or not.

“Ultimately, what I try to do the most, and I haven’t done a lot of it lately, to be honest, working on strengthening the joints,” the “NCIS” star continued in the 2019 Men’s Health interview. “Because, some of the fellas over there can relate, once you start getting to your mid-30s and getting close to your 40s, you really need to create flow. The most important thing, over lifting heavy, is functionality.”

Functionality seems especially important for someone like Wilmer Valderrama. After all, from week to week, the demands of being on a show like “NCIS” put him in some very physical situations.
