A new documentary is being released about O.J. Simpson’s relationship with Nicole Brown Simpson, and for the first time it is making her diaries public.

The new two-hour Investigation Discovery special is called “O.J. & Nicole: An American Tragedy.” The new documentary will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Simpson’s acquittal in the infamous murder case.

Brown Simpson’s sister, Tanya, will read directly from the diary that includes graphic accounts of domestic violence. The diary entries include more than 60 incidents of physical domestic abuse. However, they weren’t admissible in O.J.’s subsequent trial, according to former CNN reporter Marc Watts who appears in the documentary.

The two-hour special premieres Monday, Oct. 5 and will also feature appearances by family friend Ron Shipp. In addition, the documentary will feature police and lawyers who were a part of the investigation.

“This documentary is not here to retell the famous trial, but to remember the woman who struggled with domestic violence and now tells her side of the story, in her words, for the first time,” said Investigation Discovery president Henry Schleiff.

O.J. Simpson and His Controversial Twitter Account

During the summer of 2019, O.J. Simpson joined Twitter in a move that many questioned. Ever since, he has shared bizarre posts including his first ever. His initial post was a video that included him saying that he’s “got a little gettin’ even to do.”

Additionally, his Twitter bio reads “Hello Twitter World, It’s Yours Truly. If you don’t see it here, I didn’t say it.”

Meanwhile, Simpson has weighed in on Twitter this month about NFL games and politics during frequent video updates. He’s even been dishing out fantasy football advice and analysis. In August, Simpson urged his followers to watch both the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention.

“You should be informed and most of all you should vote,” Simpson said in the video. “If you don’t vote, you don’t have the right to complain when it’s over.”

The former NFL great seems to love fantasy football and brings it up often. Simpson called his most recent draft “the worst draft he’s ever had.”

As he often does, Simpson likes to open his videos by calling himself “Yours Truly.” That was the case in his video sharing his excitement for the start of the NFL season.

Finally, he most recently posted a video on Tuesday evening titled “Big decisions today. Football & Politics!!!”

From looking at his social media presence, one would think O.J. was never part of one of the most infamous murder trials in American history. The new documentary will paint a very different portrayal of the famous athlete.
