by Katie Maloney

Ten years ago, Carrie Underwood made her big-screen debut in the biographical film about professional surfer Bethany Hamilton.

When you think of Carrie Underwood you may think of seven Grammys, eight CMAs, and 13 ACM Awards. Or, you may think of eight studio albums and 21 number one hit singles. However, there’s more to Underwood’s talent than just music. She can also act. Carrie Underwood first tried out her acting talents in an episode of How I Met Your Mother in 2010. Just one year later, Underwood made her silver screen debut in the movie Soul Surfer. During the movie, Underwood plays church counselor, Sarah Hill, who helps the lead character and dedicated pro-surfer, Bethany Hamilton as she recovers from a shark attack. The movie starred Anna Sophia Robb as Bethany Hamilton and Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid as her parents.

Although the movie takes place mostly in and around water, Underwood admitted during an interview in 2011 that she’s not a huge fan of surfing.

“I enjoy being by the water, but being on the water is scary,” said Underwood. “I’m a horrible swimmer, I’m a fear of drowning kind of girl.”

So, we can officially remove “pro surfer” from the list of Carrie Underwood’s potential career goals.

The country music star may not be taking up surfing anytime soon. But, Carrie Underwood is certainly still interested in acting. During a recent interview, Carrie shared that she has a secret talent that’s she’d love to share with the world through an animated movie.

“I actually am pretty good with voice impressions or having silly character voices,” said Underwood. “When I read to my kids, I definitely get into character. I’m kind of surprised that I haven’t read for some sort of cartoon animal at some point. Maybe in the future, I will be some sort of silly animal.”

Underwood added that she knows exactly what character she’d like to play. She even has a name for her future cartoon character.

“I feel like a lot of people would expect me to be like, ‘dogs.’ We have three dogs. But we have two cows and I grew up with cows,” said Carrie. “And when we got one, every once in a while, who for whatever reason needed to be bottle-fed. Oh, it was the sweetest thing, bottle-feeding a little calf. There’s just something about them. I love cows…So, if cows are my favorite animal, I should be Carrie the Cow.”
