We’re just two short weeks away, Outsiders, from the “Ozark” Season 4 Part 1 premiere on January 21. But that begs the question — when will Part 2 drop?
“Ozark” fans already waited almost two years for this latest season. Season 3 left them reeling, and now they’re ready to see the next step for the Byrde family. Netflix plans on dropping seven episodes for Part 1 in a few weeks, and the concluding seven episodes should drop later this year, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Nothing’s been confirmed yet, unfortunately. According to Looper, principal photography wrapped up in October 2021. So that just leaves a lot of post-production work. The streamer clearly set to the task of prepping the first seven episodes for release over the last three months or so. But how long will they need to prep the final seven?
That depends on a number of factors. “Ozark’s” immense popularity gives the network a lot of leverage to build up the final episodes. Maybe they want to stretch it out to get the most anticipation out of fans. Or maybe they want to drop it quickly, with very little notice so fans scramble to jump on it.
Either way, we just hope it lives up to the previous season and sends off the Byrdes in a satisfying conclusion.
New ‘Ozark’ Trailer Teases Major Changes for Byrde Family
Earlier this week, Netflix dropped a brand new “Ozark” trailer that made fans go wild. It featured Marty and Wendy Byrde, who have now been deemed “celebrities” in the drug cartel world. They’re carrying messages for the cartel and becoming more directly involved in its operations. Including brokering a deal for Omar Navarro with the FBI.
“Do this and you are free of your obligation to me,” Navarro tells the couple. This is major news, as Marty’s been tied up in the cartel for what feels like ages. Could this be their breakthrough?
Things aren’t helped, though when their son starts to get more involved as well. The “Ozark” trailer teases that 14-year-old Jonah helping out Ruth Langmore with some laundering, which Marty sounds strategy proud of.
Speaking of Ruth, she and Marty are clearly on bad terms, based on the trailer. At the very end, he tells her “Don’t get yourself killed.'” And she responds, “Like you f****** care.” That one hits right in the heart, after everything they’ve been through together.
But the most ominous moment comes when Omar Navarro warns them, “Your greatest threat will always come from the inside, Marty. Never forget that.” But who does he need to keep an eye out for on the inside? The possibilities are endless.
Check out the trailer for yourself below, and gear up for the new “Ozark” season, Outsiders.
