Ozzy Osbourne Celebrates the ‘Long Weekend’ Going All-Out Prince of Darkness Mode in New Beachside Pic

Rocker Ozzy Osbourne is celebrating the long weekend at the beach… in full Prince of Darkness mode.

Osbourne tweeted out a picture on Labor Day of himself by the ocean clad in a black T-shirt, leopard fur coat and gold jewelry. And he’s glowering at the camera like a proper death rocker.

“Long Weekend @RossHalfin,” Osbourne tweeted, tagging the photographer.

Ozzy Osbourne Is Reissuing His 1991 Album No More Tears

On Sept. 17, Osbourne will be reissuing his 1991 album No More Tears. Osbourne’s sixth album, it went quadruple platinum and included four Top 10 singles on Billboard’s Rock chart: “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” “Road to Nowhere,” “Time After Time” and “No More Tears.” Another track off the album, “I Don’t Want to Change the World,” netted Osbourne a Grammy Award (the Grammy was for the live version of the track, which was part of a subsequent album).

And now, to go with it, Goldmine Mag reports, Osbourne is releasing a double 180-gram black vinyl LP pressing. He is also reportedly releasing a special yellow-and-red 2-LP vinyl version with a custom booklet.

An expanded digital audio edition of the reissue will feature bonus tracks, demos from the 1991 promo CD The No More Tears Demo Sessions and live tracks from Osbourne’s 1992 “Memoirs of a Madman” DVD.

Osbourne Mourns Death of Family Friend

Meanwhile, both Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne recently mourned the death of their friend, music industry executive Dell Furano, who died at age 69 last week.

Variety hailed Furano as a pioneer of rock merchandising. He was also the founder of entertainment agency and brand management company Epic Rights.

Furano reportedly got his start hawking T-shirts, vaulting from those lowly beginnings to working with John Lennon, the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Led Zeppelin, Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5 and Aerosmith, among others.

“In the ’70s, it was not cool selling merchandise, so we had to be careful,” Furano told Billboard. “Groups would say, ‘OK, you can sell, but don’t embarrass us. Stand in a corner.’”

Upon learning of Furano’s death, Osbourne tweeted: “So sad to hear of the passing of Dell Furano. He was a legend in the merchandising business, a great friend and above all, a true gentleman. Much love and respect to his wife and family.”
